Apocalyptic Rebirth: Earth’s Vast Changes - Chapter 12
When he came to the UK, Qin Luo had to transit to S city first before taking a direct flight to L City, England from there. And, this time, using George’s connections, Qin Luo’s group of three people boarded the airplane smoothly without hindrance. Twelve hours later, Qin Luo finally set foot on Z country’s land. After all, despite the fact that the apocalypse was approaching and would end everything, he still held an endless love for this land.
The three of them stayed in S city for two days before they boarded the train to go to Qin Luo’s hometown, J city. When Aunt Liu saw Qin Luo and Qin Ke, she finally put down the worries in her heart. As for Ink’s presence, Qin Luo decided to give Aunt Liu a brief explanation though he kindly hid the part concerning the Research Institute.
Just looking at Ink’s handsome and young appearance already created a favorable impression in Aunt Liu’s mind. However, when Aunt Liu heard what happened to him and saw his frail and thin appearance aroused Aunt Liu’s maternal instincts. She immediately clapped her chest and guaranteed that he would be fed until he grew to be a healthy and plump young man under her care.
And, while Qin Ke’s room had been prepared in advance, Ink’s room wasn’t since Qin Luo hadn’t mentioned his presence beforehand. Of course, there were several guest rooms at home that could be used, however she had to take care of grandpa and her silly husband, also preparing meals for three people. So, she had no time to tidy up the rooms meant for guests. That’s why, Qin Ya’s original bedroom was given to Ink as his temporary residence after it had been cleaned up.
Aunt Liu’s cooking skills were very good. That’s why the head of the household, Uncle Liu, and Qin Ke rushed to grab the food at the dinner table happily. The family hadn’t been so lively for a long time, and though there were only two more additions on the table, there was a lot of joy.
Aunt Liu frequently filled up Ink’s bowl with vegetables, and she knocked Uncle Liu several times when he tried to snatch pieces of ribs from Qin Ke’s fork, allowing him to put the ribs into his mouth smoothly. As Qin Luo looked at this scene, warmth filled his heart, making his appetite much better than usual.
Before the delightful dinner even finished, the telephone in the living room suddenly rang.
Hearing the phone ring, Aunt Liu’s happy face immediately cooled down. She practically gnashed her teeth as she got up to answer it.
Seeing Aunt Liu’s unusual expression, Qin Luo got up and followed her.
Aunt Liu answered the phone angrily, “How many times have I said this, not selling meant that I’m really not selling! Zhou Deren really doesn’t need to waste their time calling over again in vain.”
Qin Luo only listened to a few words of the one-sided conversation, but he had already guessed the whole story. Zhou Deren, the person on the other side of the phone call, was like his grandfather; one of the major shareholders in Huan Yu Corporation. Ever since his grandfather hurt his brain in a car accident and became eccentric, some people in Huan Yu Corporation were scheming for the equity shares in his hand.
At that time, he was only fifteen years old, and he lacked knowledge in many things. It was Uncle Liu, who had been following his grandfather since young, that understood the nuances and insisted he disagree to sell the shares his grandfather held. Who knew that these black-hearted people would unexpectedly rush into the house at night and beat Uncle Liu severely. If his brother-in-law hadn’t come forward in the name of the Donaldson family, these people would most probably have succeeded in their pursuits.
Listening to Aunt Liu’s tone, this was definitely not the first time the family got such calls. The cause was perhaps because they had heard a rumor in the grapevine and came calling to ascertain the real situation.
Qin Luo took the phone from Aunt Liu’s hand, making her look at him in surprise. After all, Qin Luo had once said to her that she didn’t need to call him if the phone call was about his grandfather’s equity shares, she could directly hang up. So, it naturally surprised her that he came and took the phone from her in person today. She didn’t know what he was planning to do.
“You want my grandfather’s equity shares.” Qin Luo’s voice as he spoke was particularly cold.
Zhou Deren, who was about to hang up the phone, was stunned before he shook it off and laughed out loud, “Oh, turns out it’s the young head of Qin family. I heard that there was an accident in your family and you flew to England to deal with it.”
Qin Luo sneered, “Even if there’s any accident, it has nothing to do with you.”
Zhou Deren simply laughed, “You can’t say that. Your grandfather and I have known each other for many years, I can’t exactly leave him in the lurch like those people. In any case, it doesn’t seem to be very safe for him to hold so many shares. I’m calling out of my kindness to see if you intend to let those equity shares change hands.”
Qin Luo paused. “If you want it, show me sincerity. If you’re not sincere, there’s no need to talk nonsense to me. And, to tell you the truth, I indeed have the plan to sell the equity shares in my hand.”
