Chapter 2: Necrozma, Captured by a Twist of Fate

Watching Lunala plummet straight from the sky, Chen Nian realized, his chance had come.

At this moment, his hand gripping the Master Ball trembled with excitement.

Success or failure hinged on this one move!

Whether by luck or not, Lunala was falling close to him. Seizing the opportunity, Chen Nian burst from his hiding spot and sprinted toward the descending Legendary Pokémon.

Meanwhile, Necrozma, locked in combat with Solgaleo midair, immediately noticed Chen Nian’s sudden appearance.

At first, Necrozma hadn’t paid much attention to the human nearby. But now, seeing him move toward its prey, rage flared within the Prism Pokémon.

After swatting away Solgaleo with a powerful strike, Necrozma swiftly turned and dove straight for Chen Nian.

It didn’t know what this human was planning, but Necrozma would never allow anyone to interfere with its hunt.

With a furious roar, Necrozma charged at blinding speed, its arm morphing into a blade of condensed energy as it slashed toward Chen Nian.

Chen Nian’s pupils shrank, he hadn’t expected Necrozma to attack so quickly.

What should he do now?

He didn’t need to guess how devastating Necrozma’s strike would be. If that energy blade hit him, his chances of survival would be absolute zero.

Just as Chen Nian thought he was done for, Solgaleo suddenly teleported in front of him, taking Necrozma’s brutal attack head-on.

But Solgaleo was already badly injured from their earlier battle. Now, after enduring another direct hit, its body was sent flying backward, crashing heavily into the ground.

Seeing Solgaleo completely incapacitated while Necrozma continued its relentless charge, Chen Nian gritted his teeth and made a bold decision.

Damn it. If you’re coming straight at me, then I’ll just have to gamble!

Without a second’s hesitation, he hurled the Master Ball straight at Necrozma.

A flash of disdain flickered in Necrozma’s eyes.

If Legendary Pokémon could speak, Necrozma would have scoffed:

Throwing a rock at me? Is this human out of his mind?

Watching the spherical object fly toward it, Necrozma didn’t even bother dodging.

It simply swatted at the Master Ball, intending to bat it away, but the moment it made contact, an irresistible force surged through Necrozma’s entire body.

A red light engulfed the Prism Pokémon, sucking it into the capsule in an instant.

The Master Ball then dropped to the ground with a thud.

Success!!!

Chen Nian’s heart nearly exploded with excitement.

He hadn’t captured Cosmog, but… he’d caught Necrozma instead!!!

However, before he could celebrate, an unexpected change occurred.

The fallen Master Ball suddenly transformed into a streak of red light, shooting straight into Chen Nian’s forehead.

His mind spiraled into chaos.

His body collapsed onto the snow, unconscious.

While Chen Nian lay unconscious, Lunala and Solgaleo—having lost too much of their power—began to regress.

Their massive forms dissolved, replaced by small, nebulous creatures composed of swirling blue and purple mist.

Had Chen Nian been awake, he would have recognized them immediately—these were Cosmog, the pre-evolved forms of the two Legendaries. But in his current state, he missed the entire transformation.

The two Cosmog slowly opened their eyes—their glowing, pale-yellow orbs and blue cheeks giving them an adorably innocent appearance.

No ordinary person would ever guess that the majestic Lunala and Solgaleo had once been such cute, tiny beings.

Now, stripped of their power, the two Cosmog seemed to have lost all memory of their battles.

Floating in the air, they noticed each other and, as if sharing a silent understanding, drifted closer.

They circled playfully for a moment before curiously observing their surroundings.

Soon, they spotted Chen Nian lying motionless in the snow.

Drawn by curiosity, the two Cosmog floated toward him, sensing a strangely familiar aura from his body.

As they hovered around him, one of them noticed several red-and-white Poké Balls lying nearby.

Intrigued, the little Cosmog drifted closer.

It nuzzled against one of the Poké Balls, accidentally pressing the button.

In an instant, a red light engulfed the small Pokémon, sucking it inside the capsule.

Startled, the other Cosmog quickly backed away, afraid the same would happen to it.

………..

Fortunately, the captured Cosmog soon popped back out, as if discovering a fun new game.

It began darting in and out of the Poké Ball, thoroughly enjoying itself.
