Ambushing Cosmog from the Start - Chapter 37
Chapter 37: Me, Zoroark, Getting a Pentakill
This damn kid, cursing while playing League of Legends, a cigarette dangling from his mouth… was actually a Zoroark?!
Chen Nian was stunned!
But after the initial shock, a surge of excitement rushed through him.
A Zoroark with master-level potential—this was a pleasant surprise for him!
In daily life, he couldn’t just keep using Legendary Pokémon for battles. He’d need to catch and train a team of six regular Pokémon.
And now, one had practically delivered itself to him—a Pokémon he’d liked in his past life, no less!
So, should he catch it? Or catch it? Or catch it right the hell now?!
……
Seeing Chen Nian stand up as if about to scold him, the Zoroark disguised as a teenager also rose from his seat.
“Hey, old man, you got something to say?”
“Did I bother you? My bad, I’ll keep it down…”
The commotion had drawn the attention of everyone in the internet café.
Seeing the “teenager” apologize, Nan Qinli tugged at Chen Nian’s sleeve, signaling him to drop it.
But at that moment—
Chen Nian did something that left Nan Qinli, and everyone else in the café, completely stunned.
He… he actually pulled out a Poké Ball and hurled it straight at the kid!
Holy shit! Was this madman seriously trying to capture a human with a Poké Ball?!
The entire café, including Nan Qinli, was utterly floored by Chen Nian’s audacity.
……
The Poké Ball flew straight toward the teenager. Many scoffed, ready to laugh at Chen Nian’s failure.
But what happened next left everyone in the café gaping in disbelief.
A flash of red light—and the damn kid actually got sucked into the Poké Ball!
What the hell?! Was this some newly invented Poké Ball? One that could even capture humans?!
For a moment, the entire café fell into stunned silence.
Even Nan Qinli stood there, mouth agape, completely at a loss.
……
After capturing the Zoroark, the Poké Ball immediately began shaking violently.
Chen Nian, however, used his psychic energy to toss the ball away.
The next second, the Zoroark burst free.
At first, everyone had thought Chen Nian was some ruthless legend who’d somehow captured a human with a mysterious Poké Ball.
They’d all been wondering—since when could Poké Balls do something like that?!
But now, seeing Zoroark’s true form, they finally understood the truth.
That “teenager” wasn’t human at all—it was just Zoroark’s illusion!
……
In an instant, the entire café erupted.
Dozens of greedy eyes locked onto Zoroark.
This Pokémon was incredibly rare!
Catching it would be a one-way ticket to the top!
But how many of these internet café loiterers were actually Pokémon trainers? The truly strong wouldn’t waste their time in a place like this.
So, no one dared to actually make a move on Zoroark.
Except for Chen Nian.
In a flash, he closed the distance and, without hesitation, released his Dragonite.
“Dragonite, go! Take down that Zoroark!”
……
Dragonite’s appearance sent another wave of shock through the café.
Voices erupted from all corners:
“Holy shit! Is that… a Dragonite?! This guy actually has a Dragonite?!”
“That’s insane! Who the hell just casually owns a Dragonite? Is he an Elite Four-level trainer?!”
“We’ve got a real monster here! Everyone, back the hell up!”
“Clear the way! This is gonna be one hell of a show!!”
“I never thought I’d see a Dragonite in real life… Mom, I can die happy now…”
……
Though everyone wanted to watch, they also knew a battle between Dragonite and Zoroark would be dangerous. They scrambled to keep their distance, not wanting to get caught in the crossfire.
But no one was willing to leave—for these nobodies, witnessing a battle like this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
……
Chen Nian didn’t have time to care about the peanut gallery. His focus was entirely on Zoroark.
And Zoroark?
It was glaring right back at him, seething with hatred.
What’s the most infuriating thing that can happen to someone?
When you’re in the middle of a crucial moment in your game, and suddenly the power cuts out—or someone yanks your damn Ethernet cable.
And for this Zoroark?
“I was in the middle of a goddamn pentakill, and you just had to throw a Poké Ball at me?! Do you have any idea how unforgivable that is?!”
