Chapter 10: Fleet Commander
This policy was implemented to strengthen the connection between the local and central governments, ensuring that newly joined planets would not break away from the Human Federation due to initial political system issues.

“Thank you for your concern, Governor, and thank you for the support of the Federal Government!” Lin Zhichen crossed his arms and returned the Psionic’s salute.
Pikan returned the salute and smiled, “According to Federal regulations, Psionics born within the first ten years of a newly joined autonomous planet automatically gain the status of a senator and receive a government position. Mr. Lin Zhichen, in which area would you like to develop?”
Lin Zhichen raised an eyebrow, “I may have to disappoint the Federal Government’s kind offer. I already have plans for my future and may not be able to take up a government position.”
He had his own plans for the future and naturally did not want to get involved in politics, especially since it was not his area of expertise.
“If that’s the case, I hope you can serve as the Commander of the Fifth Fleet of the Earth Defense Directorate!” Pikan proposed. Seeing that Lin Zhichen was about to speak, he continued:
“Don’t worry, at least for the next three years, Earth won’t have a Fifth Fleet—the Federal production schedule has been pushed back to five years later. Within the next five years, we will only have at most two fleets built!”

“But you know, applications for Federal subsidies like planetary defense fleets and industrial aid can’t be approved without the signatures and seals of high-level autonomous government officials.

Lin Zhichen was stunned, but fortunately, his psionic abilities accelerated his thinking. After a brief moment of surprise, he nodded and agreed, “Alright, your honesty has convinced me. I will temporarily serve as the fleet commander.”
“Thank you for your understanding and support. If you change your mind in the future, the autonomous government will always welcome you!”
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, the holographic image was closed, and Lin Zhichen fell into a momentary daze. Had he just inexplicably become a fleet commander?
