I Am the Fated Villain - Chapter 240
Chapter 240: Not human ancestor but such a person, as if it was left for her
Hearing this, Jiang Chuchu was stunned, observing Gu Changge’s gesture of helping her to pin her hair, her expression grew even more complex. She hadn’t expected Gu Changge to act so gently. For a moment, she felt a bit flattered, considering Gu Changge was typically cold and unfeeling, with no trace of warmth in his eyes.
“What can you do?” Jiang Chuchu gazed at him with sparkling eyes. She couldn’t explain why, but her voice softened, lacking the usual cold edge.
Hearing this, Gu Changge smiled faintly and replied, “The method is actually quite simple.”
“Isn’t it the Human Ancestor? The world needs such a belief.”
“Now, besides you and me, who knows that I’ve taken care of him? And as for the Human Ancestor Hall behind you, they won’t find out. You can trust my methods.”
“So, no one besides us will know that the Human Ancestor is gone.”
“What all creatures in the world truly need is not the Human Ancestor himself, but someone akin to him.”
He spoke with a persuasive smile. Of course, if he hadn’t killed the Human Ancestor, things wouldn’t be as complicated. On one hand, he had eliminated her Human Ancestor. But now, he was kindly assisting Jiang Chuchu.
If there were outsiders present at that moment, they would have been utterly horrified to hear this. Their eyes would widen, a chilling fear creeping over them, perhaps even entertaining the notion that Gu Changge must be insane.
Jiang Chuchu was equally stunned, her eyes widening in disbelief. She shook her head hastily. “No… how could this be… The Human Ancestor is irreplaceable. How could you find someone to impersonate him? In doing so, what sets me apart from a traitor?”
She gritted her teeth, vehemently rejecting Gu Changge’s proposal. The idea of Gu Changge seeking out someone to masquerade as the Human Ancestor felt like betrayal, not only to her sect but also like they were both complicit in a deceitful scheme.
It was akin to discovering that she and Gu Changge had conspired to eliminate the Human Ancestor and replace him. This was a reality she refused to accept.
Gu Changge wasn’t surprised by Jiang Chuchu’s reaction. If she had simply agreed, he would have been genuinely shocked.
He maintained his smile and continued, “I’ve simply offered you a solution. Whether you accept it or not is entirely up to you.”
“As for me, it’s actually advantageous that the Human Ancestor Hall is crumbling. I have no need to intervene. So, don’t expect me to bend over backwards for you.”
Jiang Chuchu fell silent, her expression a tangled web of emotions. She understood Gu Changge’s implication – what did the fate of the Human Ancestor Hall matter to him? He was the one who had slain its leader.
Who would know that he had killed the Human Ancestor? Who would know that he was skilled in demonic arts? Given these circumstances, why would Gu Changge involve himself unnecessarily?
For a moment, Jiang Chuchu was taken aback, realizing that Gu Changge’s words were likely influenced by their relationship. Reflecting on their history, Gu Changge hadn’t done much after that initial mistreatment. She had harbored deep animosity towards him from the start, doubting he could ever be good.
In truth, he still had his flaws in the end. Contemplating this, Jiang Chuchu’s expression and mood grew exceedingly complex.
But… she couldn’t bring herself to betray her sect and ally with this devil.
“Gu Changge, you might as well kill me!”
After much deliberation, Jiang Chuchu made her decision, resigned to her fate.
Upon hearing this, Gu Changge frowned.
The smile vanished from his face, replaced by indifference. “Jiang Chuchu, don’t test my patience,” he warned, using her full name for the first time. Previously, he had always addressed her as Holy Maiden Chuchu.
Jiang Chuchu’s expression remained calm but shifted once more. She sensed the significance of this change in address, recognizing her disrespect had irked Gu Changge.
She struggled to discern whether it was an act of kindness from Gu Changge or something else entirely. Gritting her teeth slightly, she replied, “Don’t push me, Gu Changge. I’d rather meet my end than betray my master. You killed the Human Ancestor, and yet I haven’t retaliated…”
“Speak such words if you dare to attack me,” Gu Changge interjected indifferently, then continued, “You wish for death, yet I haven’t killed you. In other words, you were once dead, and now, this life is granted by me. What do you intend to do with it? Without my consent?”
Jiang Chuchu’s eyes widened in sudden realization, clearly taken aback. Why did his words seem to make sense? Yet, she knew it was merely Gu Changge’s manipulation.
In the next instant, Gu Changge swept his sleeves, opening the portal to his inner universe, and effortlessly tossed Jiang Chuchu inside. Without hesitation, he followed suit.
“Gu Changge, you are despicable and shameless…” Jiang Chuchu’s anger erupted, her voice echoing through the inner universe.
Her practiced calmness was futile in the face of Gu Changge’s manipulation.
—
In the deepest part of the Netherland Heavenly Pond, Zhao Yi, who had been safeguarding Jiang Yang, appeared weary. Suddenly, she noticed the dispersal of the chaotic mist before her, a glimmer of joy crossing her face.
“Jiang Yang, you’ve succeeded…”
Her words caught in her throat as she froze, aghast. Her eyes widened in disbelief as Gu Changge emerged. How could this be real? Hadn’t rumors claimed this immortal had perished in the Netherland Heavenly Pond, ensnared by Jiang Yang? What had happened to Jiang Yang? The odds seemed dire.
“Not good…”
Zhao Yi’s horror was palpable as she instinctively sought to activate the Immortal Lun Seal, following Jiang Yang’s teachings. But before she could react, darkness engulfed her vision. A colossal hand loomed overhead, descending upon her with terrifying swiftness.
Puff!
In an instant, desperation overcame Zhao Yi, and she found herself pleading for mercy. “Mr. Immortal, spare me, please! Everything was orchestrated by Jiang Yang; I had no part in it…”
Unable to withstand the overwhelming force, her body erupted into nothingness. Gu Changge had no intention of letting her spirit linger, only to trouble Jiang Yang. With Jiang Yang’s demise, there was no purpose in keeping Zhao Yi alive. Her soul was swiftly reduced to ashes, body and spirit obliterated.
Sensing the disturbance, the artifact spirit within the Immortal Lun Seal sought to exploit the chaos and break free through the void. However, Gu Changge had anticipated this move.
The Golden Divine Weapon Collection unfurled!
A vast expanse unfolded like a scroll, enveloping the surroundings with a resounding hum, radiating endless brilliance. The Immortal Lun Seal found itself unable to escape, drawn inexorably into the unfolding scene.
With the acquisition of this supreme weapon, Gu Changge saw no rush to refine it, for he still had matters to attend to. As for Jiang Chuchu, he remained patient, knowing she would make her decision in due time.
Boom!
The already terrifying gray fog over the Netherland Heavenly Pond grew even more astonishing and monstrous, nearly breaching the boundaries of the realm.
In a distant location, numerous powerful cultivators observed the scene, their expressions etched with lingering horror, struggling to regain composure.
The formidable aura of the Netherland Heavenly Pond surged outward like a colossal wave, once again deterring any cultivators who had considered investigating further, rendering it impossible to approach. Even the subordinates dispatched by Yue Mingkong to guard the four directions dared not venture closer; it seemed certain death awaited in such circumstances.
“Jiang Yang’s aura vanished… What transpired?” Yue Mingkong furrowed her brow, swiftly deploying a forbidden weapon to shield herself from the residual aura as she hurried toward the Heavenly Pond. The ominous figure that had loomed overhead seemed to have disappeared, leaving an eerie absence of energy.
As if the very fabric of reality had dissipated, the situation grew increasingly perplexing. Moreover, the distinct aura of Jiang Yang had abruptly ceased, leaving Yue Mingkong bewildered as to what had occurred.
However, upon reaching the spot where the Nirvana Green Lotus resided, Yue Mingkong was stunned, her eyes clouded with deepening suspicion.
The vitality of the Nirvana lotus had vanished, unmistakably absorbed by someone. The first person Yue Mingkong ruled out was Jiang Yang. If Jiang Yang’s fusion had succeeded, he would undoubtedly have emerged to seek vengeance.
But given the current circumstances, it seemed Jiang Yang had failed, perhaps even meeting his end in this very place. This revelation sent shockwaves through Yue Mingkong, an incredulous notion taking hold.
Who possessed the capability to eliminate Jiang Yang in this formidable location, or to outmaneuver him?
“Are there still Nirvana Green Lotus seeds present here? Was someone negligent in retrieving them?” Yue Mingkong’s astonishment grew as she noticed one of the seeds.
She discovered a trove of exceedingly rare Nirvana Green Lotus seeds, still nestled within the lotus body. Despite their value, they remained untouched, unaffected by the chaos surrounding them. It appeared as though they had been deliberately left behind… But for what purpose?
Could they have been left for her?
