Meanwhile, Gu Xian’er remained hidden, observing their interaction intently. Her elegant features contorted into a frown as she sensed something amiss.
Most of their conversation revolved around Gu Changge, with eight out of every ten sentences circling back to him. Their words painted Gu Changge as a formidable and cunning individual, insinuating that he was the true inheritor of demonic arts.
Upon closer listening, it became apparent that Zi Yang Heavenly King and Qin Wuya were subtly hinting to Gu Xian’er that Gu Changge and the supposed inheritor of demonic arts were the same, offering explanations for various doubts and inconsistencies.
As realization dawned on her, Gu Xian’er’s eyes turned frigid, brimming with murderous intent. She saw through their ploy.
“Enough!”
Her voice sliced through the air, cold and sharp, sending shivers down their spines.
Emerging from the concealed void, Gu Xian’er strode towards the ruins ahead, her slender fingers grasping a luminous jade sword, its edge gleaming with an ominous brilliance.
“You… are Gu Changge’s cousin?”
Gu Xian’er’s unexpected appearance genuinely took aback Zi Yang Heavenly King and Qin Wuya. Their shock was genuine, disrupting their planned sequence of events. They intended to locate Gu Xian’er later and then carefully explain the situation if she had overheard their conversation. But now, her preemptive appearance threw a wrench in their plans.
Quickly regaining their composure, Zi Yang Heavenly King and Qin Wuya adopted a wary and hostile stance, fixing their gaze on Gu Xian’er.
