Chapter 08: To the Stark Tower
Tony was very clever. He took advantage of the fact that Lu Yuan now had no place to stay. He reached an agreement with him in one fell swoop and turned him into his bodyguard.
Now, he only valued Lu Yuan’s power and all the possible alien high technology that he might possess.
But later, he would understand just how wise his current choice was.
Even the Iron Man armor would be created because of Lu Yuan.
After all, he had completely disturbed the original plot of ‘Iron Man’. Tony should have been arrested and locked up by the terrorists for three months before he would escape through the sky by developing the first generation Mark Armor.
Now there was no chance of this happening anymore.
Because Tony was in danger and an unsafe place, yet he didn’t suffer any injury. So naturally, it didn’t attract any attention.
Hence, this matter calmly ended.
The next morning, Tony took Lu Yuan and personally drove to the Stark Tower.
Even though Lu Yuan was a bodyguard, he still made Tony look like his driver.
It was supposed to be his job.
Originally, Lu Yuan wanted to drive, but when Tony asked him and found that he didn’t even have a driver’s license, he had only one choice. It would be strange if he allowed Lu Yuan to drive.
Tony didn’t want to be killed by his newly hired bodyguard.
When they arrived at the company, they met Happy.
Happy squinted at Lu Yuan and looked a little hostile.
Perhaps he already knew that Tony had hired Lu Yuan as his bodyguard.
“Hey, what can you do?” Happy came up and asked provocatively.
Before Tony could stop him, Lu Yuan reached out and caught Happy’s shoulder and threw him by using just one hand.
Happy’s entire body flew out.
Before Lu Yuan came, Happy was both Tony’s driver and his bodyguard, which was why he ran to pick a fight with him. He felt that Lu Yuan threatened his position.
Tony covered his face because he was slow to react. This new bodyguard of his could even lift an armored car with ease, let alone a man.
“Happy. Are you okay?” Tony asked with concern.
His relationship with Happy was more than just a boss and a subordinate. Happy was one of the few people he could trust.
Happy let out a cry of pain. He was just an ordinary person and had no combat power. This fall wasn’t light for him at all.
Lu Yuan let out a sneer and said, “If you don’t have strength, don’t provoke others. I haven’t even used a little bit of my strength. If you were in an illegal place, you would have already died.”
What he said was true, and Tony firmly believed that Lu Yuan could do that with no difficulty at all.
Lu Yuan was an incredibly dangerous guy. That’s why he had to keep him on a leash. Otherwise, if someone hired him to kill him in the future, would there be anyone who could stop him?
Tony quickly picked up Happy, told him to rest, and turned to Lu Yuan.
“Man, you know this is not an illegal place, so don’t go too far. Besides, Happy is still my friend. Remember that you are my bodyguard,” Tony couldn’t help getting a little angry and glared at Lu Yuan.
It was just that Tony felt regretful after speaking. He did not know what Lu Yuan’s reaction would be. He was very likely to die, as his action was similar to confronting Hulk after his transformation.
Lu Yuan looked at Tony in silence and sighed. “Well, you’re the boss. You’re in charge. But I’m hungry.”
Tony secretly sighed with relief. It was good that Lu Yuan could save his face. He hurriedly agreed and said, “I’ll take you to eat, but before that, I need to take care of some things. I really don’t know who is working for whom. I’m going to your caretaker from now on, right?”
He said this because when he went out this morning, Tony had to prepare new clothes for Lu Yuan.
It didn’t make sense, but it was true.
Did he have to take care of Lu Yuan’s food, drink, clothing, housing, and transportation?
Lu Yuan held back his smile. In fact, he was not so unreasonable. Except for when he was provoked by Happy, and he slightly used his strength; he was still very easy to get along with.
After all, he was not an irrational monster. He could even retain his sanity when he just became Doomsday.
In conclusion, he was just like an ordinary man. He wasn’t some kind of monster who could not control himself, even the Hulk could not be compared to him.
So Tony’s worry was a little superfluous. If it wasn’t because he wanted Happy to stop pestering him, he wouldn’t do it.
But Tony was a little too careful. He was worried that Lu Yuan might turn into a monster and run away at any time. Just a laser attack from him was enough to destroy the Stark Tower, and it would be all over.
After comforting Happy for a while, Tony took Lu Yuan into his exclusive elevator and went straight to the top floor.
Tony had an office on the top floor, later he transformed the top floor into his living area and often lived here.
Two things were taking place today. One was that no matter how unreliable Tony was, he also had to come to the company to report. Not long ago, he just went on a tour to talk about a deal. He had to come back and explain it to the board of directors, especially that guy named Obadiah Stane.
And the other thing was for him to sign a contract with Lu Yuan.
On the surface, Lu Yuan signed a contract to be Tony’s bodyguard, with a monthly salary of $100,000.
But secretly, he and Tony had an agreement, and it was not that simple.
The contract was just meant to give Lu Yuan an identity certificate. It would allow Lu Yuan’s identity to be recognized within the Stark Group of industries. So that he could freely enter and leave the building in the future.
Another point was that the military would certainly doubt Lu Yuan. With this contract, Tony was acting as a guarantor for Lu Yuan. Once something happened, if they couldn’t catch Lu Yuan, Tony would have to bear responsibility. Even if they did catch Lu Yuan, Tony still wouldn’t be able to escape from the responsibility.
This was based on the fact that Lu Yuan was a spy, which he was not.
“Well, you should wait here while I have a few words with those guys from the board,” Tony spoke without a shred of dignity.
Because Lu Yuan saved Tony, causing him to lose an opportunity for experience and growth. Now Tony was the same as before. He was still a Playboy and unruly like he used to be.
It couldn’t be helped. Tony’s growth and his desperate experience were related to his stay in that cave, along with his important friend.
But now it was all gone. It wouldn’t happen.
“It still has a lot to do with me,” Lu Yuan volunteered to take responsibility for this.
Thinking about it, Lu Yuan was not polite. He pulled Tony’s chair away and sat on it.
Whose bodyguard would be so arrogant?
Suddenly, the door opened, and Pepper walked in wearing a competent OL dress with papers in her hand: “Tony… Is that you?”
Pepper was surprised that it was not Tony who was sitting in his seat, but Lu Yuan.
He had crossed his legs, and he was leaning on the chair, almost putting his legs on the desk.
Pepper looked at him with a strange expression. She felt that he and Tony were, in some ways, very much alike. Both were self-righteous and minded their own business, doing whatever they wanted to do.
Lu Yuan was also looking at Pepper because she was really beautiful.
