Chapter 5: Grandpa Ring! Confident protagonist!
“Jerber, tell the caravan to turn around, and let’s return.”
The man said as he opened the carriage door and addressed a servant who looked like a butler.
“Ah? Young master, aren’t we going to the Inkstone Territory of the Earl to buy goods on this trip?” Butler asked.
“Just do as I say, and spare me the unnecessary chatter. So much nonsense,” the man impatiently replied.
“Yes, Master,” Butler replied respectfully. Seeing the man’s anger, he obediently went down to make the necessary arrangements.
Soon, the team of over a dozen carriages and dozens of people began to walk along the road in Su Mo’s territory, heading back in the direction they had come from.
“The direction is correct. The distance between me and that villain is increasing.”
The man breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the prompt on the panel. Then, he raised his hand to examine the ring adorning his finger.
As a Bronze-level protagonist, Li Mang considered himself fortunate to possess the ring on his hand as his “golden finger.”
According to the instructions on the panel, the ring contained the sleeping soul of a legendary mage who had once been a formidable force on the continent of the gods. The strength of this soul was extremely powerful!
According to this man’s understanding, each legendary mage was equivalent to a small nuclear weapon, which was terrifying!
This former legendary mage now only had one soul left, so Li Mang’s strength was not as strong as before, but with his golden finger, as long as this legendary mage woke up, his strength could advance by leaps and bounds with proper guidance!
“I wonder who this villain is? Unfortunately, my golden fingers have not yet awakened, and my family is a little too small, consisting of only a baronial family … Wait for me to develop my skills and abilities. Then I will meet you, no matter who you are. Since you are a villain, you will be my stepping stone on my path to success,” Li Mang pondered.
This guy got into the role very quickly.
“I need to kill more villains to upgrade the ring to become a silver-level protagonist, and I will have an even stronger grandfather in the ring…” Li Mang thought happily.
He was cautious not to rush to the communication area as he didn’t want to affect his mental state like some others who became silver-level or even higher-level protagonists too hastily after travelling through time.
High-level protagonists had more powerful cheats, and the starting point for time travel was higher. With a determined mindset and ambitious goals, Li Mang was confident that he could surpass the other protagonists and become the strongest!
The convoy drove away quickly.
The bronze-level protagonist, Li Mang, didn’t know that he had already noticed the abnormal situation of this team.
In a dense forest, after receiving the order, several secret agents quickly reported the convoy’s abnormality.
Su Mo had secretly set up a vast intelligence network in the Crescent Kingdom using humans rather than succubi.
Succubi were demons, after all, and unless Su Mo launched a massive invasion, the Crescent Kingdom was illuminated by divine light.
On the other hand, the succubus couldn’t act recklessly to avoid exposure. On Su Mo’s territory, the scruples were much less.
A figure that could not be seen with the naked eye came quietly into heaven. This figure was none other than Nancy, the succubus sent by Su Mo.
Nancy restrained her breath, approached the convoy and quickly came to the top of one of the carriages. Her eyes glowed with a seductive red light, her appearance changing to a more alluring form, a skill she had mastered as a demon.
Immediately afterwards, Nancy peered into the carriage and assessed the situation inside. She was aware that her strength had been suppressed on the Continent of the Gods, but even so, she was confident in her ability to deal with Li Mang, who had yet to awaken his golden finger, as he posed little threat to her.
“Senior, I know that you are in the ring. Please wake up quickly. The enemy may tear me apart if it is too late.”
In the carriage, Li Mang was busy talking to the ring. He wanted to awaken the soul in the ring.
Perhaps Li Mang’s words played a role.
“Little guy…” Li Mang’s mind heard an old voice.
“Senior…are you awake?”
Li Mang was so happy when he heard this voice that he couldn’t help but make it a little louder.
“Master, what are your orders?” Butler’s voice sounded from outside.
This carriage did not have the magic of sound insulation. His voice was too loud, and Butler standing outside, heard the voice.
“Mind your own business. It’s none of your business,” Li Mang said angrily.
“Senior,” Butler called out cautiously, addressing Li Mang with respect as per his usual manners.
After freeing Butler, Li Mang shouted about the soul in the ring again.
“Little guy, don’t worry. Although I have little power left, I can still unleash a legendary attack. I have absorbed so much power from you over the years. If your enemy comes, I will help you deal with it.” The old voice in Li Mang’s mind sounded again.
….
“It should be him.”
In the castle, Su Mo whispered.
He had left a trace of his will in Nancy, a skilled succubus spy, to keep him informed of the situation and provide updates on Li Mang’s movements.
“Master, the soul in his ring is quite powerful. I’m afraid it is a legendary soul. Master, do you want to do it? Master blocks the divine light for me, and I can get it done quickly,” Nancy hid in the sky and reported to Su Mo.
“Not urgent,” Su Mo said lightly.
There were still many people around the convoy. Once they made a move, there would be some movement.
Su Mo knew that Li Mang, as a bronze-level protagonist, posed no real threat to his infiltration plan.
…..
“Legendary attack…” After hearing the voice of the legendary soul in the carriage, Li Mang’s mind suddenly became active.
“Let’s first check the level of the nearby villain,” Li Mang hurriedly opened his panel and consumed one protagonist’s value. Soon, he discovered the nearby villain was a Bronze-level.
“Bronze-level villain!”
Li Mang’s face beamed with joy. A bronze-level villain would not be too difficult to handle.
“Perhaps, we can use senior’s blow to kill this villain and complete the first kill!” The idea popped up in Li Mang’s mind. Although Grandpa Ring’s blow was to be used in critical situations to save his life, he decided to use it to kill the villain instead.
The villain had an advantage in the early stage, but the bronze-level villain may not have much of an advantage.
Perhaps Grandpa Ring’s blow could be used to kill the villain and make him the first protagonist to do so. The reward would be doubled!
“Haha, I’m such a genius!” Li Mang chuckled to himself as the idea became more feasible in his mind.
“Jerber, turn around and head towards the territory of the Earl of Inkstone!” Li Mang ordered his housekeeper, who was initially confused by his sudden change of direction. However, after being scolded a few times, he complied and followed the new orders.
So, the caravan started heading towards Su Mo’s territory again.
“My operation will catch the villain off-guard. Hahaha!” Li Mang couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride as he imagined the bewildered expression on the villain’s face when he stood before them.
