The creature had horns resembling electrical outlets on its head, two long arms, an oval-shaped body, short legs, and a yellow body with black markings.
“It looks… like it has a mischievous vibe?” Ruan Xinyi tilted her head, observing the Voltorb that Guxin led out from the booth. Was it because of its sharp teeth or its slanted eyes? There was just something naughty about it.
“Voltorb is a rather assertive type of creature. Most Voltorb tend to yearn for strength and power,” Guxin explained. “They also have a strong affinity for collecting electricity. If any other creatures try to compete for electricity with them, Voltorb won’t back down—even if it leads to fights.”
“So, sir, you need to be especially cautious during thunderstorms,” Guxin crouched down and rubbed the top of Voltorb’s head, smiling at Ruan Xinyi.
“As soon as Voltorb hears thunder, it gets especially excited. No matter how strong the storm is, it will want to go outside and play.”
Indeed, Voltorb was such a kind of creature. Their nature was quite different from the gentle creatures like Bulbasaur. “Sure, give me a moment,” Guxin headed towards the front counter.
“Pokédex, energy cubes, rookie trainer’s manual, and the commemorative ball as one of the top ten new customers,” he listed as he retrieved each item and handed them over to Ruan Xinyi.
“Twenty-three thousand for Voltorb, five hundred for the Pokédex, three thousand for ten boxes of energy cubes, totaling two hundred and thirty-three thousand five hundred yuan.”
“Credit card. Also, boss, let’s become friends,” Ruan Xinyi swiped his card and requested to add Guxin as a friend. He was genuinely interested in Pokémon battling, and having Voltorb, a strong-willed personality, was a great match for him.
Meanwhile, like his sister, Ruan Xinyi threw the commemorative ball toward Voltorb. Voltorb didn’t resist, merely shaking twice before calming down. Voltorb also accepted Ruan Xinyi, though this approval might only be temporary.
