I Spread Pokemon All Over the World - Chapter 46
Chapter 46: The Story of the Insect Transforming into a Dragon
“Charmander, use Ember!”
“Li~”
Charmander shot tiny fireballs from its mouth in the courtyard, aiming at a thick wooden board.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Muffled explosions echoed as the fireballs struck the sturdy board, leaving cracks in their wake.
“Great job, Miss!”
As the final fireball hit the board, it shattered completely. The maid exclaimed in excitement.
“Phew, hehe, Charmander, you did it!”
“Li-li~!”
Chu Kelian couldn’t contain her happiness as she joyfully picked up Charmander and spun around. Charmander responded with cheerful Li-li sounds.
“You’re really amazing, Charmander. Your training results are remarkable.”
The maid approached them, amazed by Charmander’s performance.
When Chu Kelian returned in the afternoon, she had been talking about something incomprehensible and mentioned giving Charmander special training. At first, the maid was shocked to see Charmander, especially when it demonstrated its ability to breathe fire. It had almost scared her to death!
But after spending the afternoon with Charmander, her perception of this magical creature had completely changed. Charmander was hardworking and had progressed significantly from merely scorching wooden boards to completely shattering them. Its temperament was gentle as well.
The maid couldn’t forget the first time she touched Charmander’s face up close; its incredibly charming smile instantly melted her heart. It was just too cute!
“Li-li-li~” Charmander beamed with pride at the maid’s praise.
“You’ve been amazing, my dear. Let’s go. It’s time for dinner.”
Chu Kelian put Charmander down, patted its head, and smiled happily, also acknowledging the nearby Durant.
“Li-li~!”
Charmander tugged at Chu Kelian’s pants.
“What’s wrong, Charmander?” Chu Kelian blinked, looking at Charmander.
“Li~”
Charmander stepped back, swelled its belly, and released a stream of black smoke, enveloping the area before it.
“Wow!!! Charmander, did you just learn a new move?”
This unfamiliar move left Chu Kelian surprised and delighted as she asked Charmander.
“Li!” Charmander replied happily.
“You’re amazing, my dear. Let me see. Indeed, you’ve learned a new move!”
Chu Kelian quickly pulled out her Pokédex and checked. Sure enough, Charmander had a new move called “Smokescreen,” which could lower an opponent’s accuracy. Looking at the black smoke, Chu Kelian figured out how it reduced the opponent’s accuracy.
“Hahaha, I truly am the future’s greatest Pokémon trainer!”
Chu Kelian’s delicate face was filled with amazement. What did this mean? It meant that her training methods were correct! Charmander had grown, or it wouldn’t have learned a new move.
“Congratulations, Miss! Charmander has worked incredibly hard, too,” the maid said, sharing in Chu Kelian’s joy. While she didn’t understand the significance of Charmander learning a new move, she could see that Charmander had put in a lot of effort.
After returning home in the afternoon, Charmander had been practicing hard. When he was tired, he gritted his teeth and persisted if it wasn’t for seeing that the lady often fed energy cubes to Charmander and smeared wound medicine.
I was afraid Charmander had long been exhausted and paralyzed.
Chu Kelian also wanted to pause several times in the middle, but Little Charmander insisted on insisting. He was a stubborn and cute little guy who distressed people.
…
“Hahaha, everyone, my Charmander has learned a new move!”
In the Pokémon trainer chat group, Chu Kelian couldn’t wait to share the good news with everyone.
At the same time, she uploaded a short video showing Charmander using the Smokescreen move.
One of the members, a popular girl at school, responded, “Wait, how did you do that?”
Another member, who owned a Vulpix, commented, “This is Smokescreen, not an inherited move. Did you give special training to your Charmander?”
While managing his store, Guxin, also a chat group member, glanced at the messages and raised an eyebrow when he saw the video content. Chu Kelian had indeed given special training to Charmander.
“Of course, I’m the first Pokémon trainer, after all!”
“With my genius special training, Charmander improved its Ember move and learned a new skill. Hahaha~”
You could sense Chu Kelian’s joyful emotions between the lines of her message.
Another member asked, “Chu Kelian, you’re amazing! How did you train Charmander? Did you focus on building its stamina or intensify the training for its moves?”
Guxin, too busy with his shop, didn’t pay much attention to the chat group. His customer had finally spoken up.
“Shopkeeper, are you sure this Caterpillar is reliable? I have doubts…”
The young boy standing in front of Guxin hesitated as he looked at the green caterpillar on the ground. Could a single worm really become strong? Wasn’t it vulnerable to attacks from Pokémon like Charmander and Ninetales?
“Of course, it’s reliable! Sir, do you think I will deceive my customers as a shop owner?”
“While Caterpillar may be a Bug-type Pokémon, it’s the initial Pokémon for many trainers.”
Guxin, playing the role of a classic Pokémon NPC, seemed confident.
“And, sir, you’re aware of the story of metamorphosis, right?”
“Shopkeeper, are you saying that Caterpillar will evolve into a butterfly?”
The boy looked puzzled.
“That’s certain, isn’t it? After Caterpillar evolves, it becomes beautiful and learns Psychic-type moves.”
“So, don’t underestimate Caterpillar; it has great potential.”
Guxin spoke with conviction.
“Most importantly, Bug-type Pokémon generally have the fastest growth rate among all types!”
“This means you might only need half the time other trainers do to raise your Bug-type Pokémon to adulthood!”
“The importance of time is self-evident. While other trainers are still struggling to train their Pokémon, you’ll already be ahead with your fully grown Bug-type Pokémon, won’t you?”
The young boy was convinced that faster growth meant faster development of strength.
“And I’ve heard a story that Caterpillar has a rare variant evolution, though it’s unverified and purely speculative.”
“Some say that Caterpillar can evolve into a green dragon!”
“Though personally, such speculation is baseless. After all, a bug is just a bug. How could it evolve into a dragon, right, sir?”
Guxin casually mentioned the so-called ‘story,’ adding his skepticism.
Could Caterpillar evolve into a dragon? The boy’s eyes lit up. As for Guxin’s last words, they were ignored. In 2202, if such a ‘story’ existed, it probably had a basis. So, could Caterpillar evolve into a dragon? The boy carefully analyzed the possibilities and felt it was quite likely. After all, stories of Bug-type Pokémon evolving into dragons were not unheard of.
“I’ll buy this Caterpillar, shopkeeper!”
“Sir, you have great insight! You’ll undoubtedly become an outstanding Pokémon trainer in the future. It’s only 50,000 credits.”
“Swipe Credit card!”
