Chapter 14: The Three Pure One’s Part Ways!
“On the Kunlun Mountains, the Heavenly Lord clenched his fists tightly, his face contorted with anger, yet he hesitated to take action. Ye Xiu had passed on the profound ways of the sword to him, and though he hadn’t advanced in his realm, his inner reservoir of a thousand sword auras had made his cultivation several times denser than before!
Sanqing, following the Pangu tradition closely, but as the last to take on a physical form, found himself slightly behind Laozi and Yuanshi in cultivation. But now, things were different…
The Heavenly Lord refrained from acting out of respect for his brothers from Sanqing, unwilling to create a rift.
“Brothers, you can criticize me, but don’t insult my master, or else… don’t blame me for being ruthless,” the Heavenly Lord declared coldly, his demeanor stern, and his gaze unwavering on Laozi and Yuanshi.
His words were chilling, leaving Laozi and Yuanshi at a loss for words. Yet, they both sensed a formidable surge of sword energy emanating from the Heavenly Lord. It was enough to send shivers down their spines.
The Heavenly Lord, carrying the sword’s essence, could outmatch Laozi and Yuanshi if he chose to strike! The reason for the Heavenly Lord’s restraint was his deep bond with his Sanqing brothers. He truly didn’t want to escalate the situation.
In the midst of this tense standstill, a tremendous sword energy enveloped the surroundings. Wherever it went, countless miles of space bore the marks of countless swords, as if space itself was being cleaved apart by myriad sword energies, a horrifying sight. Even the multidimensional space seemed to turn all things into deadly blades, ready to be wielded at a thought.
Laozi and Yuanshi, both Great Luo Golden Immortals, were overwhelmed by the surging sword aura emanating from the Heavenly Lord. They never expected that the Heavenly Lord would reach such a terrifying state of power quickly.
This transformation, this rapid advancement, was simply mind-boggling. Laozi and Yuanshi were wide-eyed, staring at the change in the Heavenly Lord’s presence, utterly astonished.
Could his apprenticeship with the mysterious figure on Buzhou Mountain have led to this transformation?
Now, they couldn’t afford to underestimate that enigmatic figure on Mount Buzhou. Not even when Ye Xiu, with a mere flick of his void sword aura, had crushed nine Great Luo Golden Immortals, were they as shocked as they were now. To turn the Heavenly Lord into a peerless sword cultivator in such a short time was staggering.
Even more terrifying was that the Heavenly Lord’s aura was still rising. Countless sword energies gathered like a boundless abyss, threatening to consume Kunlun Mountain.
“Third brother, that’s enough,” Laozi finally managed to say after regaining his composure. He noticed that the surrounding sword energies were eroding the spiritual veins of Kunlun Mountain. With a wave of his sleeve, he summoned the Heavenly Primordial Radiant Pagoda, which radiated a brilliant light, shielding Kunlun Mountain and rendering it impervious to harm.”
“Third brother, it was Yuanshi who offended me just now. For the sake of brother, let’s forget it,” Laozi generously blamed Yuanshi.
Seeing this, Yuanshi’s expression turned livid immediately. Yuanshi didn’t blame Laozi for passing the blame, but instead, he shifted his anger towards the Heavenly Lord, secretly nursing a grudge.
Many great supernatural beings in the prehistoric world cared deeply about their reputation, and after witnessing Laozi and Yuanshi compromise, the Heavenly Lord didn’t seem inclined to blame them. He immediately subdued his aura, restoring peace. Both Laozi and Yuanshi breathed a sigh of relief, feeling relieved. They had been immersed in the terrifying sword energy, which had been quite unnerving.
However, the warning from Laozi couldn’t be ignored. “Since you have insisted on taking that senior on Mount Buzhou as your master, we won’t force you.”
But Yuanshi, pretending to be impatient, interrupted Laozi, “Saint Hongjun is about to begin his second sermon, and time is of the essence. Since you have already become his disciple, you should stay here at Mount Buzhou to cultivate. We will go to the Purple Heaven Palace on our own to seek the Tao.”
Laozi and Yuanshi tore apart the space and disappeared into it. The Heavenly Lord was left feeling helpless as he watched them depart. He had intended to come back and tell them that Ye Xiu’s teachings were not inferior to Hongjun’s, but Laozi and Yuanshi didn’t give him a chance to explain.
After calming his mind, the Heavenly Lord shook his head, dismissing the unhappy and chaotic thoughts. He controlled a divine rainbow and flew towards Mount Buzhou. Laozi and Yuanshi were filled with frustration and anger on their way to the Chaos Purple Heaven Palace.
Yuanshi couldn’t help but vent his feelings, “The third brother is really confused!”
“He’s utterly stubborn!” Yuanshi, with his proud temperament, would rather lose to outsiders than admit that he was not as powerful as Heavenly Lord.
The Heavenly Lord’s strength and intimidating presence had left Yuanshi quite displeased. His thoughts raced, and he was determined to make the most of his visit to the Purple Heaven Palace, hoping to impress the Heavenly Lord the next time they met.
On the other hand, Laozi could only sigh continuously along the way, showing no emotion on his face, and his thoughts remained a mystery…
