Chapter 20: If the heavens interfere, wield the sword and strike them!
The Heaven-Opening Nine Swords Style, taught by Ye Xiu, was incredibly enigmatic and challenging to comprehend. Even the Heavenly Lord, who has always boasted of his supreme swordsmanship talent, felt frustrated after contemplating that sword diagram.
After a century of diligent efforts to understand the sword, he finally grasped the first sword technique. Though filled with frustration, Heavenly Lord was more amazed. The Heaven Opening Nine Swords Style, the pinnacle of swordsmanship, was profoundly mysterious and didn’t seem like a creation of the prehistoric world.
It might have its origins in chaos, or even something more ancient. One might have to devote one’s entire life to comprehend that sword diagram fully. At this moment, the Heavenly Lord became increasingly curious and deeply intrigued by Ye Xiu’s identity. Using Buzhou Mountain as a training ground, it emanated the essence of three thousand great truths, suffused with primordial energy.
Even Patriarch Styx would personally come to greet and address him as the master. In the blink of an eye, he defeated nine powerful Great Luo experts with a single sword technique. Even his sword techniques were inspired by witnessing Pangu’s creation of the world. All signs pointed to Ye Xiu’s identity being far from ordinary.
“To comprehend the Heaven Opening Nine Swords Style, such a peerless sword art, one could easily surpass the ages and excel in all the realms… Is the master’s identity perhaps one of the three thousand innate demon gods?”
“Or maybe… a supremely powerful being emerging from primordial chaos?”
As the Heavenly Lord contemplated the first sword of creation, his thoughts wandered, leading to various conjectures. Even when Ye Xiu had approached him, the Heavenly Lord remained unaware.
“Your thoughts seem scattered and chaotic. What are you thinking about?” Ye Xiu teased.
These words, like profound spiritual guidance, instantly cleared Heavenly Lord’s mind. He quickly regained his composure and bowed, saying, “Disciple greets Master.”
“Now that you have comprehended the first sword of creation and your aptitude is still acceptable, reaching a preliminary level in the Way of the Sword, even approaching the quasi-saint realm, it’s time for you to leave the mountain, experience the mortal world, and refine your sword skills,” Ye Xiu suddenly said.
Heavenly Lord was momentarily shocked by this unexpected revelation and bewildered. He hadn’t even realized that he had reached the quasi-saint realm!
Entering the realm of swordsmanship, surpassing the quasi-saint, he would transcend time and space, achieving true immortality and eternal uniqueness. Since the Heavenly Lord had pursued the path of swordsmanship, a somewhat unconventional approach, the power of the laws within him far exceeded that of typical quasi-saints.
Heavenly Lord’s mind sank as he gazed inward at his divine treasure, discovering endless multiverses within himself, encompassing stars and oceans, capable of erasing countless small worlds with a single thought. Even standing still, his body exuded a sea of sword energy, unmatched in its lethality, resembling a peerless divine sword that stood tall in the world, emitting a fearsome and terrifying aura.
“Wait? Master wants me… to go down the mountain?!” After regaining his composure, the Heavenly Lord finally realized.
“Yes, let’s go down the mountain,” Ye Xiu replied earnestly. “Although you have only comprehended the first sword of creation and your mastery of the Way of the Sword is preliminary, this sword alone is enough to make you a dominant force in the prehistoric world, surpassing all quasi-saints.”
“In the mortal world, you will encounter many worldly matters. With the sword in your hand, if you see injustice, you can use your sword to eliminate it,” Ye Xiu continued.
Heavenly Lord pondered this for a while and replied, “I understand.”
At this point, Ye Xiu added, “With the sword in your hand, do what you wish. As long as you act with a clear conscience, I will bear the consequences for you. Even if the mighty forces of heaven intervene, you must hold onto your principles and use your sword.”
A thunderous roar echoed in the sky as if the heavens were warning the prehistoric world’s inhabitants. Ye Xiu remained unfazed, calmly looking at the sky, undaunted by the display.
“Master, I still have a question that has puzzled me for a long time..,” the Heavenly Lord suddenly asked.
“What’s the question?” Ye Xiu inquired.
Heavenly Lord asked, “Dare I ask Master… what is your true identity…”
Upon hearing this, Ye Xiu was momentarily surprised. Then his expression grew serious. He solemnly said, “If I told you I am an incarnation of the Great Dao, wandering through the mortal realm… would you believe me?”
“I believe!” Heavenly Lord nodded without hesitation as if he had complete faith in Ye Xiu’s words. His heart filled with excitement.
To think that his master was an incarnation of the Great Dao! As an apprentice, how could he not be excited?!
But the next moment, Ye Xiu laughed and teased, “Silly child…”
Laughter echoed through the entire Buzhou Mountain, melodic and continuous, resonating through the heavens and the earth. Ye Xiu vanished from the Heavenly Lord’s sight, leaving him in a daze. Heavenly Lord appeared somewhat disappointed but even more curious about Ye Xiu’s true identity. Later, the Heavenly Lord composed himself and transformed into a streak of light, embarking on his journey to test his sword in the prehistoric world.
