Being yelled at by Wen Xu, Gu Anran nearly burst into tears.  

“I-I don’t know either…!” Her voice was trembling.  

“Siyuan told me that if anything went wrong, I should activate this rune fragment to fix everything… so I did! I never thought it would turn out like this!” She looked utterly aggrieved, on the verge of sobbing.  

“Tang Siyuan!?” Wen Xu froze.  

What did this have to do with Tang Siyuan? Wait…  

He suddenly remembered that before entering the Trial Space, Tang Siyuan had whispered something to Gu Anran.  

“What the hell happened?!” 

Ignoring Gu Anran, Wen Xu immediately rushed to support his injured sister. Seeing Wen Yu covered in wounds, his heart ached.  

His eyes turned bloodshot as he glared at Gu Anran. He loved her dearly, but his sister was just as important to him.  

Gu Anran was completely shaken, her voice cracking as she sobbed.  

“Tang Siyuan told me… she said I should test which one of you four truly cared about me… so she had me release something in the Crystal Palace…”  

“She said some monsters would appear, but they’d be weak! She said it was just a harmless prank, just a simple test…!”  

“I-I never thought it would turn into this!” Gu Anran blurted everything out, confessing the entire conversation she had with Tang Siyuan.  

“A Void Beacon…?”  

Everyone was stunned. The one responsible for this Void Invasion… was actually Gu Anran?!  

Li Ling was in complete shock. He looked at Gu Anran, his voice trembling with disbelief, “You placed a Void Beacon?! Do you even know what that means?!”  

A single Void Beacon had caused a Void Invasion, led to irreversible destruction, and resulted in countless innocent deaths.  

And all of this… Because Gu Anran wanted to “test” their loyalty?!  

At this moment, Li Ling felt speechless.  

Gu Anran sobbed, “I didn’t know…! I was terrible at school… I failed all my classes… whenever I looked at theory stuff, my brain just shut down!”  

Her high school grades had been abysmal—she had literally scored zeroes in every subject. She had only gotten lucky, awakening an SS-rank Class.

Gu Anran felt utterly wronged. She knew she had made a mistake, but it wasn’t intentional! She never meant to hurt anyone!  

She had trusted Tang Siyuan so much… but Tang Siyuan had deceived her! And now, the worst part—  

Wen Xu had yelled at her. Even Li Ling and the others were looking at her differently…  

In the past, if Gu Anran made this face, Wen Xu’s heart would have melted instantly.  

But now… Feeling his sister’s weak breathing, Wen Xu felt only anger and guilt.  

His gaze darkened as he looked at the rune fragment in Gu Anran’s hand, which was still emitting Void Energy.  

“Then explain why you attacked my sister.” 

Gu Anran froze and looked even more aggrieved.  

“T-Tang Siyuan told me… that if things went wrong, I should activate this rune fragment to fix everything…!”  

“I thought it would close the Void Rifts! I didn’t know it would do this! I’m sorry! I really didn’t know…!”  

“Enough!!” Wen Xu couldn’t take it anymore.  

How could someone be this stupid?! He could accept that Gu Anran had been manipulated. But this level of manipulation was insultingly simple!  

He had assumed that she had been tricked by an elaborate scheme, involving intricate deception and multiple layers of traps.  

If that had been the case, he wouldn’t have been this furious. But this?!

Tears streamed down Gu Anran’s face, but Wen Xu felt nothing.
