The Super Rich: From Zero to the Top of the World! - Chapter 31
Chapter 31 What a Coincidence!
The next day, a little after 8 a.m., An Liang had breakfast at Amanyangyun and then took a Rolls-Royce Phantom to the Patek Philippe Mansion in the Magic City. It was located in Building No. 2 of the former British Consulate, covering an area of over 1,200 square meters.
The Rolls-Royce Phantom service provided by Amanyangyun for An Liang cost ten thousand yuan per day, but he didn’t care—he possessed the Life Winner System and naturally deserved to enjoy the best.
At the Bund in the Magic City, the black Rolls-Royce Phantom was granted entry into the Patek Philippe Mansion. If it were any other car, it probably would’ve been stopped at the gate!
An Liang didn’t wait for the chauffeur to open the door. He stepped out himself and walked directly into the Patek Philippe Mansion. A salesperson came up to greet him.
“Hello, sir. I’m Li Xiaolin. Welcome to the Patek Philippe Mansion,” Li Xiaolin said politely.
“Hello. I previously made an appointment to see the Grand Complication Chronograph 5160/500G-001,” An Liang explained.
“Mr. An?” Li Xiaolin asked, confirming.
An Liang nodded slightly.
“Nice to meet you, Mr. An. I’m Li Xiaolin. We’re honored that you’ve chosen Patek Philippe. Would you like to learn more about Patek Philippe first, or would you prefer to see the reserved watch directly?” Li Xiaolin asked thoughtfully.
An Liang had already researched Patek Philippe online, so there was no need for Li Xiaolin to elaborate.
He replied, “Let’s go straight to the target.”
“Right this way.”
Li Xiaolin gestured.
A million-level watch would, of course, be displayed in a VIP room on the second floor. Li Xiaolin led An Liang to VIP Room No. 1 on the second floor. There were other esteemed guests in the room as well. An Liang glanced around and smiled.
“Miss Liang, what a coincidence!”
An Liang greeted. He had run into Liang Xue again. Liang Xue was sitting in the room with a middle-aged man who looked to be in his forties, browsing watches.
When An Liang greeted her, she replied, “Hello, Mr. An. We meet again!”
The middle-aged man looked at An Liang, noting his full LV summer outfit, and asked, “Xiaoxue, who is this?”
Hearing the man’s overly familiar tone, Liang Xue frowned slightly but restrained her displeasure and replied, “Mr. Jin, this is Mr. An Liang, who was my seatmate on the plane yesterday. He’s visiting the Magic City as a tourist.”
Her introduction was tactful—she clarified how she knew An Liang, how long they’d known each other, and that he was just a traveler.
Jin Ming introduced himself.
“I’m Jin Ming. You’re also here to look at watches, young man?”
An Liang glanced at Liang Xue. If not for the fact that her special score was 88 points and she had a remark about being in a sub-health state due to intense work, he might have assumed she was just hanging around a sugar daddy.
“Just browsing,” An Liang replied flatly.
Jin Ming was a bit irked by the brush-off. He pressed further.
“Which model are you interested in? I can help you avoid the unpopular ones that might lose value.”
Li Xiaolin and the salesperson attending Jin Ming didn’t join the conversation. They stood aside, observing silently. It wasn’t appropriate for salespeople to intervene in customer disputes.
An Liang responded with a question, “What’s Mr. Jin planning to buy?”
Jin Ming smiled.
“I’m just browsing too, mainly looking for a watch for Xiaoxue.”
“Oh?”
An Liang looked towards Liang Xue curiously. She didn’t respond.
An Liang pursued the question.
“So which one are you planning to get?”
Jin Ming didn’t hide it.
“The 7122 series. Whether it’s the 200R or the 200G depends on whether Xiaoxue prefers rose gold or white gold.”
“I haven’t heard of that series. How much are they?” An Liang asked Li Xiaolin.
Li Xiaolin replied, “The 7122 ladies’ watches are priced at 199,200 yuan, and they typically sell at retail price.”
Less than 200,000 yuan!
While that’s expensive for the average person, it’s practically entry-level at Patek Philippe.
An Liang scoffed.
“So it’s that cheap!”
Jin Ming’s expression froze. He had come here to show off, and now An Liang was outdoing him at his own game?
A nearly 200,000-yuan watch—cheap?
Of course not!
Jin Ming gave a low hum of annoyance.
“So what are you planning to buy, young man?”
“I don’t really know much about watches, and I’ve never bought one before. I just know Patek Philippe is famous, so I looked up a few models online and called to see which one was in stock—that’s the one I decided to get,” An Liang replied casually.
“Oh right, I think it was the 5160/500G-001, right?” An Liang looked at Li Xiaolin, adding, “That model name is kind of complicated. I made sure to memorize it beforehand so I wouldn’t say it wrong and embarrass myself.”
Jin Ming’s face darkened. He was very familiar with Patek Philippe and instantly recognized that model’s price. He had just seen it displayed behind a protective glass case. The salesperson told him it was reserved and couldn’t be viewed up close.
So his moment of bragging had been completely undercut?
Li Xiaolin cooperated with An Liang, confirming, “Yes, Mr. An, you reserved the 5160/500G-001. We don’t have stock for the others, especially the Celestial model—it’s produced in very limited quantities, and we can only help register you on the waiting list.”
“Then let’s take out the 5160 and have a look,” An Liang said.
Jin Ming’s face grew even gloomier—Celestial model?
“Is this guy actually buying, or is he just showing off?”
Jin Ming had taken a couple of hits to his pride but didn’t leave. He wanted to see whether An Liang was really going to make the purchase.
And if he didn’t?
Heh!
Jin Ming was ready to mock him so hard he’d question his life choices.
