Chapter 37 Friendliness Value Scanning System!
Liang Xue hesitated as she looked at An Liang. In her view, An Liang clearly didn’t have a problem with funds—after all, he had casually purchased two Patek Philippe watches before, with a total value of 1.77 million yuan. So Liang Xue didn’t doubt his financial capability.
“What conditions do you have?” She asked tentatively.
An Liang had already activated the scanning system to determine Liang Xue’s friendliness value.
…
Current Scan Target: Liang Xue
Current Friendliness Value: 65
Friendliness Value Tier Notes.
-100 and below: Hostile
-99 to 0: Dislike
0 to 59: Acquaintance
60 to 69: Ordinary Friend
70 to 79: Close Friend
80 to 89: Best Friend / Not Yet Lovers
90 to 99: Intimate / In a Relationship
…
An Liang looked at the friendliness classification notes provided by the Life Winner System and noticed two blind spots. The first was the 90 to 99 tier, which includes both intimate and romantic relationships. Why distinguish between the two—aren’t they essentially the same?
As for the second blind spot—what about values above 99? Unfortunately, the Life Winner System provided no explanation. Currently, Liang Xue’s friendliness value was 65 points—they were considered ordinary friends.
That assessment was pretty rational. After all, it was only the second time they’d met—once on the plane yesterday, and again at Patek Philippe today. Just that. How high could the friendliness value really be?
In response to Liang Xue’s question, An Liang firmly replied, “I’m not some old creep!”
Liang Xue laughed at his reply—it was a sharp dig, once again nailing Jin Ming to the wall of shame.
“Why are you interested in investing, Mr. An?” She asked curiously.
An Liang replied, “You already said it yourself—this show has a low risk of losing money and even has the potential to become a hit. If it does, that’s a big payday, right?”
He continued, “Also, I messed up your last investment opportunity. My conscience won’t let me just stand by and do nothing.”
“And besides, I’m your fan—investing in you should be fine, right?” An Liang said with a smile.
Hearing that he was her fan, Liang Xue rolled her eyes at him flirtatiously and reminded him, “Even if the risk is low, there’s still a chance we might lose money.”
An Liang chuckled to himself. The Life Winner System already said there would be a profit of 10 million—if it says so, it will happen. Losing money? Not a chance. After all, it’s the Life Winner System. Need I say more?
“No worries—it’s just five million,” An Liang replied calmly.
Liang Xue was shocked—just five million?
While five million might not sound like a lot, how many companies with assets over 100 million can easily pull together that much cash?
“You’re really going to invest?” She asked again.
An Liang nodded with a smile. “Absolutely! No doubt about it—I’m in! If you’re worried, I can wire the five million to your account right now, okay?”
Liang Xue quickly waved her hand.
“No, no, I trust you.”
She raised her Long Island iced tea and clinked glasses with An Liang.
“Thank you, Mr. An.”
“I’m just looking for a good investment opportunity,” An Liang replied.
After downing three strong Long Islands, Liang Xue’s cheeks flushed red.
“Seriously, thank you so much this time!” She said, slightly tipsy. “Even though I could have turned down Jin Ming’s investment, the agency wouldn’t have given me other resources—I’d just be running from one commercial gig to another day and night.”
“Some members of our group even tried to convince me—they said it’s no big deal to give in. After all, you’re going to find a boyfriend eventually, right?”
Liang Xue seemed genuinely a little drunk as she began revealing some of the behind-the-scenes reality of the industry.
“This show, Our Promise, is a rare opportunity. The script is great, it’s all about hard work and positive energy. As long as the acting holds up, it’s bound to be a modest hit!” Liang Xue spoke as if talking to herself.
“But I just can’t let it go. I don’t want to bow down. I don’t want to become the kind of person I hate most!” She vented.
An Liang replied, “Then stay true to yourself. Keep going strong! If this web drama becomes a hit, you’ll finally have some leverage, right?”
“Mm!”
Liang Xue nodded firmly.
“So thank you again!”
An Liang used the friendliness scanning system again—and just as he expected, her value had gone up: from 65 to 70. Even though it was only a five-point increase, it marked a significant change!
At 65, they were just ordinary friends—basically acquaintances who might share a casual meal. But at 70, they were close friends. Even though it was the bare minimum for that tier, their relationship had clearly deepened.
“Another Long Island, please!”
Liang Xue called to the server.
An Liang quipped, “Still drinking?”
