Chapter 21: The Hidden Powers of the Supreme Tyrant Bone!
The entire underground corridor trembled, a deep rumbling sound echoing through the stone walls. Yang Yi moved like an untiring machine, his shovel rising and falling with relentless force. The iron tool bent repeatedly under his strength, yet each time, he straightened it with his bare hands and continued digging. Before long, a massive pit had taken shape within the corridor.
Normally, even a peak-stage Hua Jin warrior would collapse from exhaustion if tasked with digging such an enormous hole alone. Yet Yang Yi, who was only at the entry stage of Hua Jin, showed no signs of fatigue. His limitless endurance wasn’t just due to his immense physical strength—it came from something far more extraordinary. He had noticed a peculiar phenomenon. Whenever he began feeling the slightest fatigue, his nine fully-formed Tyrant Bones would automatically release a strange energy, instantly rejuvenating his body.
“So this is another ability of the Supreme Tyrant Bone?” He muttered to himself, marveling at its overwhelming efficiency. It was no wonder Xiang Yu, the legendary Western Chu Overlord, had been able to fight all night without rest, slaying over eight hundred enemy soldiers even when completely surrounded by thousands of troops. And when his army was finally crushed, he had only fallen because he chose to take his own life at the banks of the Wu River.
With such an unending reservoir of power, not many could rival a true Tyrant Bone warrior in a battle of endurance. Not only did it provide unstoppable stamina, but it also enhanced raw strength to terrifying levels. These two abilities were enough to dominate the mortal realm.

A new thought took root in his mind.
“If I continue nourishing my Tyrant Bones with Innate Qi, could they evolve even further? Or, if I find more ‘special bones’ in these ancient tombs, will I be able to fuse them with my own skeleton?”
The possibility excited him beyond words. With a system as powerful as his, he refused to believe that his potential was limited to just this world. One day, he might even shatter the void and ascend beyond mortality itself.
After what felt like hours, the pit had finally reached a sufficient depth and size. Exhaling a slow breath, Yang Yi flexed his legs and effortlessly leaped out of the trench in a single bound. Surprisingly, despite all the labor, he didn’t feel even a hint of fatigue. Finishing up, he sat with Meng Jiangnv, sharing a quick meal before starting the process of transporting the bodies into the pit. It took some time, but eventually, all the corpses were buried, and the hole was sealed with fragments of shattered stone bricks. With this, his grim task was complete.

Unlike before, the corridor now felt decent. The air had become lighter, fresher. With the bodies gone, ventilation improved, and the stale stench of sweat and death faded away. He took a deep breath, enjoying the newfound clarity in the atmosphere.
“Good thing I took care of this when I did,” he mused. “Any longer, and those corpses would have started rotting and stinking up the place.”
Standing beside him, Meng Jiangnv finally spoke, a thoughtful look on her face. “Husband, since you were able to break the stone bricks of the floor, doesn’t that mean you could also break through the walls?”
Her words were filled with hope and anticipation. Though she had already resigned herself to living in this underground tomb, if there was a chance to escape, she would take it without hesitation. She wasn’t just thinking about herself—she was also thinking about the future children she and Yang Yi might one day have. They couldn’t raise a family in a place with no sunlight, no fresh air, and no true home.
……………………………………………………………………………
Yang Yi considered her words before shaking his head slightly.
“The walls are much thicker than the floor. I could break through them, but right now isn’t the best time to leave.”
He explained, “The tomb is still heavily guarded by troops stationed at Mount Li.”
“Even if we break out, the outside world isn’t safe yet.”
“Besides, there are still thousands of convicts laboring outside, continuing construction on the Emperor’s tomb.”
He hadn’t forgotten the final years of the Qin Dynasty.
Zhang Han, one of Qin’s most formidable generals, had once led an army of two hundred thousand convicts from Mount Li and nearly crushed the entire rebellion that toppled the empire. Even if he escaped now, he would only find himself in another battlefield.
Meng Jiangnv nodded obediently, her eyes shimmering with newfound admiration. “I trust you, husband. We’ll wait for the right time.” Her faith in him was absolute. Wherever he was, that was where she belonged.
……………………………………………………………………………
Smiling at her loyalty, Yang Yi suddenly stretched his arms.
“Well, now that I’m done working, I think it’s time for a bath,” he said casually. Meng Jiangnv’s cheeks flushed deep red as she hesitated before speaking.
“Would you like me to help you… relax afterward?” Her voice was soft, almost inaudible, but the implication was clear. Her body had nearly recovered, but she wasn’t sure she could handle him again. Just standing near him, she could feel the intense heat radiating from his body, the raw pressure of his energy and strength making her knees slightly weak. She already knew what awaited her tonight.
Yang Yi’s smirk deepened.
“That’s exactly what I had in mind.”
However, his expression turned serious for a moment. “Let’s return to our previous spot first.” This area still held traces of death, and he wasn’t interested in spending the night next to a fresh mass grave.
Meng Jiangnv quickly nodded, gently taking his arm as they walked back toward the outer corridor. As soon as they arrived, Yang Yi summoned a large vat filled with fresh, clear water. Then, with a wave of his hand, he materialized the wooden bed from before. Only this time, the bed was much thicker, and several extra blankets had been added.
Meng Jiangnv blinked in surprise. “Why so many blankets?” she asked.
Yang Yi chuckled. “The bedding in this era is too thin. Since cotton hasn’t been introduced yet, common people don’t have proper blankets.”
“I just figured I’d make things a bit more comfortable.”
His latest spoils from looting had included several high-quality blankets, and he had no intention of suffering through an uncomfortable night.
Meng Jiangnv lowered her gaze, her face burning as she hesitated before whispering. “Husband… you should bathe first.” Now that they were alone again, she felt a rush of nervousness.
Yang Yi reached out, gently cupping her flushed face as he grinned. Then, without hesitation, he removed his robes, revealing his sculpted, battle-hardened physique. Even in the dim light, his skin seemed to emit a faint glow, the traces of Innate Qi within him subtly radiating power.
Meng Jiangnv stared, momentarily lost in a daze. His body was perfectly sculpted, each muscle finely defined, like a work of divine artistry. She had always known he was strong, but now, standing before him, she truly understood just how powerful he had become.
Yang Yi chuckled at her dazed expression, then lowered himself into the water, letting its cool touch soothe his heated body. The water immediately warmed, reacting to his overwhelming vitality. Meng Jiangnv watched with wide eyes, her breath hitching slightly.
“Just how strong is he now?”
For the first time, she felt a tiny bit of fear; or rather, a deep, reverent awe; and perhaps, just a little bit of regret that she had no palace maidens to share the burden with tonight.
