Chapter 13: Empire High School

“Your classmates don’t dare to offend Kim Tan. The only one who can stand against him is Choi Young-do, who happens to be your brother. Am I right?”

Yang Yu lit a cigarette, took a slow drag, and looked at Yoo Rachel with a calm expression.

“How do you know that? I never mentioned his name, nor did I bring up Choi Young-do.”

Yoo Rachel eyed Yang Yu warily and shifted slightly away from him.

“There’s nothing in this world I can’t find out if I want to. Just think of me as having special abilities.”

“And remember, I’m helping you.”

“Oh? Aren’t you afraid of their family’s Empire Group?”

“And why are you helping me? This is our first time meeting, isn’t it?”

Yoo Rachel was confused. Why would a man she had just met—who had even acted inappropriately toward her—not only back off but also offer to help her?

“Fine, I’ll admit it—I like you. But don’t worry, I never force anyone into anything. I’ll make sure you willingly fall into my arms. The question is, do you dare to give it a try?”

Yang Yu gazed at Yoo Rachel with sincerity and deep affection.

“If you can stop my mother from marrying Chairman Choi, I’ll agree to your terms.”

Yoo Rachel’s face remained expressionless as she spoke.

This had been troubling her for a long time. She and Choi Young-do had tried everything to prevent their parents’ arranged marriage.

“That’s easy. Just take me to see your mother, and everything will be resolved.”

For Yang Yu, this was a piece of cake. All he had to do was tell Esther Lee that Choi Jin-ho was about to be arrested, and everything would fall apart.

In the original series, after Choi Jin-ho’s arrest, Yoo Rachel’s mother had immediately called off the engagement without hesitation.

“This is just a partnership to get back at Kim Tan. We are not a real couple. Let’s be clear on that.”

Yoo Rachel emphasized her point.

After that, he offered to take Yoo Rachel home, but she refused.

She had already messaged her driver to pick her up. She still didn’t fully trust Yang Yu.

This student was none other than Yoon Chan-young—Lee Bo-na’s boyfriend and Cha Eun-sang’s close friend.
