Villain of the urban TV/Movie Time-Travel - Chapter 16
Chapter 16: Girlfriend
“A beating for nothing—believe it or not?”
“How about we make a bet?”
Yang Yu smirked at Yoo Rachel.
Seeing his fearless attitude and the Pagani Huayra he drove—an absolute top-tier luxury car—maybe he really wasn’t afraid of Empire Group.
[The Pagani Huayra is a mid-engine sports car produced by Italian sports car manufacturer Pagani, superseding the company’s previous offering, the Zonda.]
“Forget the bet. It’s almost time. My mother is coming soon. How do you plan to convince her to give up on the marriage alliance with Zeus Hotel?”
“Just admit in front of her that you’re my girlfriend. That’s all.”
Yang Yu grinned.
Yoo Rachel nodded coldly. “Fine. But make sure you remember—this isn’t real.”
Yang Yu nodded in agreement, but he secretly chuckled. With your mother’s opportunistic nature, she even treats herself as a bargaining chip for business. What makes you think she wouldn’t do the same to you? Soon, it won’t even be up to you—she’ll be the one pushing you toward me.
He had everything planned out. Hmph! You think you can escape from me, little girl?
Right on time, Esther Lee arrived. Dressed head to toe in designer brands, she was every bit the CEO of RS International, a powerhouse in the fashion industry. Yang Yu silently sized her up.
Seeing Yang Yu sitting there calmly, without even greeting an elder, she frowned in disapproval. However, as a veteran in the business world, she didn’t let it show.
“You wanted to see me?” Esther Lee spoke first. “I have another appointment soon, so I can only give you five minutes. Say what you need to.”
She was indeed busy. On the way here, she had just heard that Kim Tan was hospitalized after a fight. She had planned to take Yoo Rachel to visit her future son-in-law and leave a good impression on her future in-laws.
If only she knew that the young man sitting across from her was the very one who put Kim Tan in the hospital.
“Alright, I won’t waste time.” Yang Yu took a sip of coffee, speaking as if it were just casual small talk. “I heard you’re planning to marry Zeus Hotel’s Choi Dong-wook. This has made Rachel very unhappy, so I suggest you drop the idea.”
Esther Lee glanced at her daughter and sneered. “This is the spokesperson you brought? Doesn’t seem very convincing.”
She checked her watch and stood up. “Alright, time’s up. Rachel, come with me to the hospital to visit Kim Tan.”
Without sparing Yang Yu another glance, she reached for Yoo Rachel’s arm, ready to leave.
Yoo Rachel looked at Yang Yu, her eyes practically screaming: Are you kidding me? This is your so-called plan to help me?!
Yang Yu remained unbothered and spoke leisurely.
“Within a week, Choi Dong-wook will be arrested for tax evasion.”
Esther Lee, who had been pulling Yoo Rachel toward the door, stopped in her tracks.
She slowly sat back down, eyeing Yang Yu with interest. “Oh? And how exactly do you know this? I haven’t heard of any investigation from the prosecutor’s office. How do you have this information? And why should I believe you?”
Of course, Yang Yu had no clue—it was just how the drama played out.
But it didn’t matter. If the butterfly effect somehow changed things and Choi Dong-wook didn’t get arrested, he could always make a call to Chairman Lee and ensure it happened.
Still, he had to keep up the act.
“Because he made my Rachel unhappy. So he must be arrested. And if Rachel is still unhappy, then he will disappear altogether.”
Yang Yu lit a cigarette, exuding an air of absolute confidence.
Esther Lee glanced at her daughter, who remained silent with her head down, then at Yang Yu, who was casually smoking, completely unbothered.
She hesitated.
This wasn’t something to joke about. If what he said was true, her losses would be immense. But what if this young man was just bluffing?
“Also, there’s no need to visit Kim Tan. Rachel is my girlfriend now—how could she go see another man?”
Yang Yu asserted dominantly.
Esther Lee’s eyes flickered. “And who exactly… are you?”
His confidence unsettled her, and she found herself speaking much more politely.
Yang Yu slid a business card across the table.
“I believe I’m more suitable for Rachel than Kim Tan. Don’t you agree?”
Esther Lee picked up the card—her eyes widened in disbelief.
“Vice Chairman of Samsung?!”
She stared at Yang Yu, astonished.
“I’ve never heard of Samsung having a vice chairman as young as you.”
“Just because you haven’t heard of me doesn’t mean I don’t exist. Why don’t you call Chairman Lee and ask?”
Of course, she wanted to confirm it. But there was a problem—she didn’t even have Chairman Lee’s private number. She wasn’t important enough to have direct access to Samsung’s chairman.
And that was all the proof she needed.
