Villain of the urban TV/Movie Time-Travel - Chapter 22
Chapter 22: No Self-Awareness
Seeing that Lee Hui-kyung had no intention of leaving, Yang Yu felt both amused and exasperated.
“I don’t let men stay over in my house.”
He wanted to get rid of this third wheel as soon as possible.
“Exactly! He’s clearly not welcome here, so why don’t you just leave?”
Cheon Song-yi chimed in, backing Yang Yu up.
Hearing them both trying to kick him out, Lee Hui-kyung became even more determined to stay. He had already set his heart on Cheon Song-yi—if he let his guard down and someone else stole her away, he’d have nowhere to cry about it.
He firmly believed that no one in this world loved Cheon Song-yi more than he did. Only with him could she truly be happy.
“Fine, if you’re not leaving, then I will.”
Seeing that Lee Hui-kyung was completely unfazed, Yang Yu decided to leave instead.
The moment he said that, Cheon Song-yi protested.
“This is your house. Where are you going?”
“To your place, of course.” Yang Yu smirked and winked at her.
Cheon Song-yi’s eyes lit up as she remembered how Yang Yu had effortlessly carried her and leaped from her balcony to his. This time, she wasn’t scared at all—she was actually excited. She wanted to see for herself how he did it.
Lee Hui-kyung, watching their playful exchange, grew even more anxious.
“Are you guys treating me like I don’t exist? Song-yi, you’ve only known him for a short time! Don’t get fooled! I’m the only one who’s truly right for you. You need to keep your eyes open.”
Lee Hui-kyung hurriedly warned her, making up his mind to never give them a chance to be alone together.
Watching Lee Hui-kyung squirm, Yang Yu found it hilarious.
Dude, you’ve been chasing her for over a decade and still haven’t succeeded. Do you seriously not get the hint?
You’re not even a backup option—she’s rejected you more times than anyone can count, yet you still think you have a chance.
Yang Yu patted Lee Hui-kyung’s shoulder.
“I feel bad for you, man, but you really need to face reality.”
Then, without another word, he scooped up Cheon Song-yi, walked to the balcony, and lightly pushed off the ground. In one smooth motion, he leaped onto the balcony of her apartment next door.
He waved at Lee Hui-kyung, who stood frozen in shock.
Lee Hui-kyung glanced down at the twenty-story drop, swallowed hard, and wiped the sweat from his forehead.
He slowly retracted the foot he had instinctively placed on the balcony railing.
Inside, he cursed Yang Yu a thousand times over.
Meanwhile, Cheon Song-yi’s eyes sparkled with admiration as she gazed at Yang Yu like a fangirl.
“How did you do that? Does martial arts lightness skill really exist?”
She looked at him like a starstruck fan meeting her idol.
“I’ll tell you when the time is right.”
Not satisfied with that answer, Cheon Song-yi pouted and whined.
She was still wearing Yang Yu’s oversized shirt, which was loose-fitting to begin with. Whether by accident or on purpose, the third button had come undone, giving Yang Yu a clear view of what lay beneath.
His self-control wavered. Just as he was about to give in and make a move, his phone rang.
Annoyed, he glanced at the screen—it was Yoon Chan-young, the guy he had met that morning at Empire High.
A sly smirk played at Yang Yu’s lips. Looks like the bait had been taken.
“Hello? Sure, I’ll be right there.”
Yoon Chan-young wanted to meet up, and Yang Yu agreed without hesitation.
This guy was a crucial pawn—one that could kill three birds with one stone. He had no choice but to put Cheon Song-yi on hold for now.
Why three birds with one stone?
First, pairing the second male lead with the female lead was already a huge disruption to the storyline.
Second, he could take advantage of Lee Bo-na’s heartbreak to make his move on her. (That was the real goal.)
And finally, he could humiliate Kim Tan, the so-called protagonist, in the process.
With so many benefits, how could he refuse?
“I need to step out for a bit. Get some rest.”
Yang Yu told Cheon Song-yi as he prepared to leave.
So late at night? Is he meeting another woman?
Cheon Song-yi frowned at the thought. She didn’t want him to leave, but since they weren’t officially in a relationship, she had no reason to stop him. She could only keep her frustration to herself.
“Oh… then tonight…”
“Don’t worry, I’ll be back soon. I’m just meeting a guy—how long could that take?”
Yang Yu saw through her thoughts and reassured her before she could overthink.
Sure enough, as soon as she heard it was a man, Cheon Song-yi’s expression brightened.
“But the reporters are still outside. How are you going to leave?”
She asked, puzzled.
Yang Yu: …
