Villain of the urban TV/Movie Time-Travel - Chapter 28
Chapter 28: Chance Encounter
Yang Yu looked at Cheon Song-yi with a playful expression.
“Not bad—long legs, a nice butt, though your chest is a bit small. Still, I like it,” Yang Yu commented on Cheon Song-yi’s figure.
“Hey!! How did you suddenly appear in front of me like that?” Cheon Song-yi couldn’t let go of her curiosity about Yang Yu’s sudden appearance.
One second he wasn’t there, and the next he was right in front of her. If it had been nighttime, she would’ve thought she was seeing a ghost.
“Do you really want to know?” Yang Yu asked.
Cheon Song-yi nodded, rolling her eyes. “Of course! Why else would I ask?”
She looked at Yang Yu as if he were an idiot.
Damn it!! He was actually being looked down on by Cheon Song-yi, of all people.
“Lean in, and I’ll tell you,” Yang Yu said.
Cheon Song-yi obediently leaned closer.
“I’m not human,” Yang Yu whispered into her ear, blowing a warm breath and even licking her delicate earlobe.
Cheon Song-yi thought Yang Yu was just teasing her and didn’t take his words seriously.
“If you don’t want to tell me, fine. I don’t even want to know anymore,” she said, pretending to be angry and lightly hitting Yang Yu a few times.
Yang Yu decided to tell her the truth. After all, she had a strong ability to accept the unusual. If she could accept aliens, what couldn’t she accept?
“I’m serious. I’m really not human. If you don’t believe me, I can show you,” Yang Yu said.
Cheon Song-yi wasn’t buying it.
“Even though people online call me clueless, I’m not stupid. Are you trying to tell me you’re a ghost in broad daylight?”
“Have you heard of zombies?” Yang Yu asked, looking at her.
“Of course. Those hopping zombies from Hong Kong movies in the 80s,” Cheon Song-yi replied.
“That’s me,” Yang Yu said.
“Then I’m a Taoist priest, the kind who specializes in catching zombies,” Cheon Song-yi said, even mimicking some gestures.
Yang Yu: “…”
Even when he told the truth, no one believed him. He decided not to waste any more time explaining to this airhead.
“Fine, you win. Let’s just pretend I never said anything,” Yang Yu conceded.
Cheon Song-yi immediately became smug.
“You think saying something like that would scare me? Pfft! You’re really underestimating me.”
Yang Yu didn’t want to continue this topic, so he quickly changed the subject.
“Did Lee Hwi-kyung call you? Did he get the things I asked him to pick up?”
“I don’t know. My phone’s been off,” Cheon Song-yi shook her head.
“You’re not worried about your own situation at all?” Yang Yu asked curiously.
“You said you’d take care of it for me, right? I trust you, so I’m not worried,” Cheon Song-yi replied.
Yang Yu broke into a cold sweat at her words. It was a miracle she hadn’t been lured away with candy as a child, given how easily she trusted people.
The two spent the afternoon being affectionate, and their relationship progressed rapidly. Yang Yu felt he could take things to the next level with her at any moment.
However, he had something to do that evening and was worried he wouldn’t have enough time, so he forced himself to hold back.
An hour before his meeting with Yoon Chan-young, Yang Yu wandered aimlessly. He had left Cheon Song-yi’s place early because he was afraid he wouldn’t be able to resist her any longer.
As he walked, a girl sitting on a bench caught his attention. Bae Suzy? No, her name was Gao Huimei.
She was a student Do Min-joon had taught in the original storyline, though she only appeared for about two minutes.
Yang Yu walked over and sat down beside her.
“I was passing by and suddenly found myself drawn to you. Mind if I introduce myself?” Yang Yu said, directly striking up a conversation.
Gao Huimei glanced at the man who had suddenly sat down next to her and started talking to her. She noticed he was handsome, and under normal circumstances, she might have chatted with him.
But right now, she wasn’t in the mood.
A couple of days ago, she had received a call from the hospital informing her that her mother had suffered a sudden heart attack and had been rushed to the hospital by a neighbor.
She had hurriedly taken time off work to go to the hospital, only to learn that her mother needed surgery—a surgery that would cost a fortune.
Gao Huimei and her mother had relied on each other since she was young. Their family wasn’t well-off, and her mother had worked two jobs just to put her through college.
Now that she had finally graduated and landed a decent job, her mother had fallen ill.
The medical expenses were beyond her means, and she had nowhere to borrow the money.
There was a department head at her company who had been harassing her. When he found out about her situation, he offered to pay for her mother’s surgery—on the condition that she become his mistress for a year.
If the man had been handsome, she might have considered it, but he was old, ugly, and overweight. Just the thought of it made her sick.
But her mother’s condition couldn’t wait any longer. She had been sitting on this bench for over two hours, unable to make a decision.
Seeing that Gao Huimei wasn’t responding, Yang Yu continued, “You look like you’re dealing with some trouble. Maybe I can help.”
