Villain of the urban TV/Movie Time-Travel - Chapter 3
Chapter 3: Collecting Rent
Do Min-joon thought he had run into a scammer or thug. Without giving it much thought—BANG!—he slammed the door shut.
But when he turned around, he saw Yang Yu already sitting comfortably on his couch.
Do Min-joon’s heart skipped a beat. With his superior hearing and vision, he hadn’t even noticed how this man entered. That meant one thing—he wasn’t ordinary.
Cautiously, Do Min-joon asked, “Who exactly are you? What do you want from me?”
Could it be that he had encountered a fellow alien?
Was this man also from another planet?
Suspicious thoughts swirled in Do Min-joon’s mind.
Yang Yu looked at him, amused by his tense expression. “Relax. I’m just here to collect rent. As long as you pay up, I won’t cause you any trouble.”
“This apartment belongs to me. I’ve never rented it from anyone. You must have mistaken me for someone else,” Do Min-joon responded politely.
He rarely interacted with people, but he wasn’t foolish. He couldn’t see through this man at all, which meant it was best not to provoke him unnecessarily.
Yang Yu smirked. “Maybe I didn’t make myself clear. I’m not talking about this apartment. I mean the rent for living on Earth for the past 400 years, alien.”
He flashed a mysterious smile.
Yang Yu knew everything about Do Min-joon, but Do Min-joon knew nothing about Yang Yu. He wanted to instill fear in the alien, making him believe that Earth wasn’t as simple as he thought—that he had been under surveillance all along. That way, he would obediently offer his blood.
Yang Yu mentally patted himself on the back for coming up with such a clever trick.
Sure enough, Do Min-joon stiffened when he heard Yang Yu reveal his true identity and his 400-year stay on Earth.
“Who are you? How do you know so much about me? Are you an alien too?” Do Min-joon asked.
“Who I am doesn’t matter,” Yang Yu replied smoothly. “What matters is that you only have three months left on Earth. Before you leave, you need to pay your rent. All you need to know is that I’m a true Earthling.”
Do Min-joon’s expression grew even darker.
He had only learned this morning—from the news—that the comet he had been waiting for over 400 years would arrive in three months.
Yet this mysterious man already knew.
The more he thought about it, the more certain he became—this man had to be an alien too!
Do Min-joon decided to test his strength. Without warning, he threw a punch at Yang Yu.
The moment his fist landed, he realized—he had only hit an afterimage.
A heavy pressure settled on his shoulder.
Yang Yu’s hand rested there, effortlessly.
Do Min-joon immediately activated his time-freezing ability, launching another punch.
Missed again.
Before he could react, Yang Yu’s hand landed on his shoulder once more.
“You’re way out of your league, alien. If I wanted to kill you, you’d be dead already,” Yang Yu taunted.
Realizing he was no match, Do Min-joon teleported away.
But no matter where he appeared, Yang Yu was always right behind him, his hand still on his shoulder, smiling.
Against absolute power, Do Min-joon had no choice but to accept defeat.
He had already used every ability at his disposal, yet this man remained unfazed, smiling as if he hadn’t even broken a sweat.
Seeing that Do Min-joon had finally stopped running, Yang Yu chuckled.
“Now, can we have a proper conversation? My patience isn’t unlimited,” he said.
Though Yang Yu never stopped smiling, in Do Min-joon’s eyes, this man was a terrifying monster.
A devil.
“Fine,” Do Min-joon muttered. “What do you want?”
He had calmed down. If this man wanted him dead, there was no escape anyway.
Back in Do Min-joon’s apartment.
“You’re leaving soon, right?” Yang Yu leaned back on the couch. “So, why not hand over all your belongings? You won’t need them where you’re going.”
Do Min-joon didn’t even blink. Material possessions meant nothing to him.
“Fine. That’s what you call ‘rent’?” he asked.
If he had known it was this simple, he wouldn’t have even bothered running away.
“No, no, no.” Yang Yu shook his head. “This is just the penalty for not paying rent on time.”
Do Min-joon frowned. “Then what do you really want? With your abilities, do you really need anything from me?”
Yang Yu grinned.
“I want your blood.”
He glanced at Do Min-joon’s body and estimated, “Based on your physique, you have about six times the blood of a normal human. An average human has about 4,500–5,000 milliliters of blood. You? You have around 25,000 milliliters.
“I want half.”
Do Min-joon took a step back, his expression darkening.
That much blood? Even he wouldn’t survive that!
“What’s your purpose?” Do Min-joon asked coldly. “Why do you need my blood?”
“Oh, nothing special.” Yang Yu grinned wider. “I just want to know what alien blood tastes like.
“As long as you agree, I’ll guarantee your safety for the next three months, ensuring you make it home without any problems.”
The underlying message was crystal clear—
Refuse, and you’re not leaving.
How could Do Min-joon not understand?
