Villain of the urban TV/Movie Time-Travel - Chapter 6
Chapter 6: Drinking
Yang Yu was just casually asking.
After saying “Goodbye,” he went straight home.
Chun Song-yi, watching him leave, muttered, “What the heck? He doesn’t even recognize me? I’m the national goddess, Chun Song-yi! Even if he’s a foreigner, doesn’t he watch TV after coming here?”
Annoyed, she grumbled all the way back home.
Lying on his couch, Yang Yu recalled the plot of My Love from the Star. He remembered that the main antagonist was Lee Jae-kyung, the second brother of Lee Hwi-kyung—a complete psychopath who even killed his own sibling. But for now, he was still useful to Yang Yu, so he would keep him around until he outlived his purpose, then dispose of him.
As Yang Yu was lost in thought, Lawyer Zhang arrived with a group of people and replaced everything in the house.
“Having money is really nice,” Yang Yu sighed.
“But some things are best handled by my own people. Looks like it’s necessary to develop a zombie descendant,” he murmured to himself.
He closed his eyes to rest, but at around ten o’clock, he was rudely awakened by an awful singing voice.
Looks like Chun Song-yi was venting her stress. Yang Yu wasn’t going to let this opportunity slip away.
Earlier that day, she had made a fool of herself by confusing cotton seeds with mocha seeds.
Coupled with the garlic pizza incident, the internet was flooded with people calling her ignorant, clueless, and brain-dead from Botox. She was furious. To make matters worse, her mother called just to ask for money, which only added to her frustration. With no other outlet, she resorted to singing at the top of her lungs.
Just then, the doorbell rang. When she opened it, she saw the neighbor she had met earlier that day.
“What do you want?” she asked.
“What time is it?”
“Around ten, I guess. Why?”
Chun Song-yi looked at him, puzzled.
“Isn’t it a bit inappropriate to be singing at this hour?”
“Oh, sorry, you could hear that? I moved in because I heard this apartment had great soundproofing. Anyway, my bad.”
She was about to close the door.
At that moment, she felt incredibly wronged—bullied online, exploited by her mother, and now even her late-night singing was being called out by a neighbor.
She held back her tears, unwilling to show any weakness.
Just then, Yang Yu raised his hand, revealing a bag of fried chicken and beer. He had deliberately bought them, knowing she loved this combination.
“If someone’s singing at this hour, they’re either really happy or really sad. If something’s bothering you, you can talk to me. It’s better than keeping it all bottled up, right?” he said with a smile.
At her most vulnerable moment, when she felt abandoned by the whole world, she saw that Yang Yu wasn’t scolding her for being loud. Instead, he brought her favorite food and offered to listen.
Her fragile heart was instantly shaken.
She threw herself into his arms and burst into tears, venting all her grievances between sobs.
Before long, his shirt was soaked with her tears.
Once she had calmed down, she berated herself internally. Why did I act so impulsively? I just met this guy for the second time, and now I’m embarrassing myself like this?
Blushing, she said, “Sorry. Take off your jacket—I’ll wash it for you.”
“It’s fine. Aren’t you going to invite me in?” Yang Yu asked with a grin.
Chun Song-yi, her face still red, stepped aside and let him in.
As Yang Yu entered, he glanced around the room with a strange expression.
Seeing this, Chun Song-yi’s already-flushed face turned an even deeper shade of red.
Her apartment was a mess—clothes and shoes were scattered everywhere. Luckily, there weren’t any undergarments in sight.
She coughed awkwardly. “Uh… just ignore the mess. Come on, let’s drink.”
Yang Yu placed the fried chicken and beer on the table.
Without hesitation, Chun Song-yi grabbed a beer, popped it open, and took a big gulp.
“You really don’t know who I am?” she asked, biting into a piece of fried chicken.
Yang Yu pretended to look confused.
“I do. We met this afternoon, didn’t we?”
“No, I mean—are you a foreigner or an alien? I’m Chun Song-yi! The national goddess! You can’t turn on a TV without seeing my ads! And you’re telling me you don’t recognize me?”
She took another sip of beer and pouted.
Yang Yu looked at her innocently.
“Forget it. You seem like a decent person. I’ll be your friend,” she declared.
As they chatted and drank, Yang Yu didn’t drink much—most of the beer ended up in Chun Song-yi’s stomach.
Before long, she was completely drunk…
