I Spread Pokemon All Over the World - Chapter 37
Chapter 37: Ah! monster
“Larvitar can indeed learn Earth’s Power,” Guxin replied after a brief silence.
“No wonder my Larvitar is such a gem!” Chen Yun’s eyes lit up, and he again praised his Larvitar.
“Emmm…” Seeing Chen Yun’s joyful expression, Guxin thought for a moment but decided not to dampen his spirits. After all, Larvitar was a specialized physical attacker. Pokémon attacks were divided into physical and special categories, and Larvitar was a classic physical attacker. It was best suited for physical moves like Earthquake and Stone Edge, especially with the move Dragon Dance, which boosted its physical attacks. On the other hand, Earth’s Power was a special move, much like teaching a Larvitar the special move Fissure – it didn’t make sense. Even if you wanted a high-powered move, Larvitar would be better suited for moves like Superpower, another physical attack with a power of 150, and the same one-turn rest afterward, which was more in line with Larvitar’s strengths. Of course, everyone had their own ideas, and learning more moves was not a bad thing.
“But for now, it might be a bit difficult to teach Larvitar because the move learning item pool hasn’t been opened yet.”
“What’s a move learning item?” Curious, Chu Kelain asked.
“By its name, it’s an item that allows Pokémon to learn new moves, like a powerful Water-type move called Hydro Pump.”
“If Miss Bai had a move learning item, she could use it on Squirtle to teach it Hydro Pump.”
“Powerful moves can significantly enhance a Pokémon’s combat capabilities.” Guxin patiently explained to the group.
Upon hearing this, Chen Yun and the others were instantly intrigued!
“My Charmander and Trapinch can learn moves too, right?” Chu Kelian’s eyes sparkled with excitement as she recalled the extensive list of moves that Dianciei had in her Pokédex.
“Yes, they can learn various moves such as Flamethrower, Hyper Beam, Earthquake, Dragon Claw, and more, each with different attributes,” Guxin nodded with a smile.
“But for now, the move learning items’ draw has not been opened. I suggest you all patiently wait for some time,” he continued, preempting Chu Kelian, who seemed eager to say something. Guxin was well aware of what she wanted to express. However, the move learning items’ lottery was currently inaccessible due to the system not permitting them. Guxin, even if he wanted to let them try, wouldn’t have the opportunity. It likely required an upgrade in the future. Furthermore, it was a lucky draw, not a direct purchase. Additionally, the move learning items here were the same as in the early generations of the games, one-time use.
“Ugh,” Chu Kelian couldn’t hide her disappointment, pursing her lips.
Chen Yun and Bai Qianqian also felt quite regretful.
After exchanging contact information and adding each other on WeChat, Chen Yun and Lin Sheng took their leave. It was almost midnight, and Chen Yun needed to return to the company.
“Well then, boss, we’ll be going. We’ll come by next time,” Bai Qianqian said, glancing at the time.
“Yeah, goodbye for now,” Chu Kelian added.
“Goodbye,” Guxin waved them off.
Indeed, they were like sisters. After such a short time, the two women were as close as if nothing had happened, their relationship restored.
Watching the two women leave the store, Guxin stretched lazily and returned to his front desk.
“Let’s order some takeaway,” he decided, taking out his phone. People were made of flesh and blood, but food was essential.
“I also need to edit the video. As for the title… let’s go with ‘Pokémon Battle Round 2’.”
Guxin ordered takeaway and opened his computer. He had recorded two battles today, and with some editing, he could upload them. Currently, his followers on the Xiaopo platform were close to half a million, making him a veritable fan magnet. However, Guxin didn’t plan to make filming his primary profession. He wanted customers to come to his store!
“It seems like the Xiaopo platform isn’t very effective. Could it be that they’re all zombie followers? Uncle’s gone too far,” he muttered as he looked at his personal page on the Xiaopo platform. While his follower count was increasing rapidly, and his video views were high, only a few more customers had visited his store over the past few days.
Gu Xin couldn’t help but feel exasperated.
*Ding-ling!*
Just then, the bell on the store’s door chimed.
“Welcome!” Guxin immediately put on his most professional smile, rising from his seat to greet the incoming customers.
His eyes quickly scanned the newcomers, a young couple who seemed to be in their early twenties.
“Hello, we saw your videos on the Xiaopo platform…” The young woman began, but before she could finish her sentence, she noticed Diancie, who was holding a teacup, hopping excitedly in the background.
In the next moment:
“Living Diancie!”
Her excited shout even had a hint of sharpness, showcasing her intense emotions. Diancie was startled by the sudden outburst, and the cup in her hand almost flew out.
Guxin sighed, raising his eyebrow in annoyance. This line sounded eerily familiar.
“That guest, could you please calm down a bit? And, of course, Diancie is alive… It’s quite impolite to react like this,” Guxin advised the still overly excited girl.
He remembered now—Lin Sheng had the same reaction when he first entered the store. Even the damn dialogue was identical: “Living Diancie!”
“Hey, sis, keep your voice down. We’re in someone else’s shop!” The handsome young man blushed, pulling on the girl’s sleeve and speaking in a hushed tone.
He was embarrassed that she had shouted so loudly out of the blue. Shouting like that was one thing at home, but in someone else’s shop? It made him want to find a hole to hide in.
…….
Huaqi Limited, an emerging company, had achieved a market value of 30 million in just two short years. This success was attributed to the strong support of the Huaqi financial chaebol and the sound management of its CEO, Chen Yun.
“Mr. Chen, One Central University wants to invite you to their 20th-anniversary celebration,” a young secretary in office attire held a document as she entered the CEO’s office.
However, the secretary soon noticed something unusual, and her words trailed off. She looked toward the left corner of the CEO’s office and saw a small creature that resembled a green-skinned dinosaur.
She paused, staring in disbelief at the little creature. Was it a dinosaur? A standing lizard? Or perhaps a lifelike toy?
The green-skinned dinosaur-like creature, with big eyes, stared back at the secretary. Its tiny claws still clutched the freshly removed leg of the office desk.
One second, two seconds, three seconds…
“You?” From the secretary’s perspective, she saw the creature’s perplexing head tilt as it looked at her, seemingly questioning her.
The secretary’s face started to pale. She continued to watch the creature, which had now begun gnawing on the desk leg with the determination of a beaver.
The creature was indeed alive…
The secretary’s face grew even whiter as she gazed at the creature, especially when she witnessed the tough wooden leg, which had been so solid, crumble like paper in the small creature’s mouth.
It was alive, it was actually alive!
In the next moment, a shrill cry filled with terror echoed from the CEO’s office.
“Ahhhh! Monster! Security! Security!!!”
