Chapter 19: At the Mount Buzhou, Heavenly Sword Enlightenment!
Ye Xiu recognized at a glance that the bloody mosquito in front of him was the blood-winged black mosquito that devoured the Holy Mother of the Turtle Spirit and bit off the third-rank golden lotus of the twelfth-rank meritorious deed to guide the Taoist in one bite.
In later generations, blood and black mosquitoes called themselves “mosquito priests” as soon as they bled into the sea…
According to its records, the poem says: “Its sound is like thunder, its mouth is like thunder, piercing through collars and curtains is even harder to resist; it feasts on flesh and drinks blood invading the human body, fearing the gathering smoke in the lush forest; its heat intensifies, becoming more clamorous, while the cold wind shows no mercy with the slightest movement; the Holy Mother of the Turtle Spirit encounters calamity, inevitably facing ten thousand beaks today!”
“My negligence allowed a mere black mosquito to disturb the master. Please forgive me, master!”
“No problem, it’s not your fault,” Ye Xiu replied.
“Thank you very much, master!” Styx said, relieved.
Even after becoming a quasi-saint, Styx dared not offend Ye Xiu. On the contrary, after entering the quasi-saint realm, Styx’s perspective widened, and he realized the vastness of this world, the heavens, and the universe, making it impossible to explore.
Ye Xiu’s cultivation and power were also vast, akin to the limitless expanse of the universe, inspiring awe. However, the scene before them left the blood-winged black mosquito perplexed. This person exuded a strong quasi-saint aura as a dominant figure overseeing all existence.
But now, he was bowing to a young-looking monk and calling him “master”! If it weren’t for witnessing Ye Xiu’s formidable abilities, the blood-winged black mosquito would find it hard to believe.
As thoughts swirled, the mosquito grew more curious about Ye Xiu’s identity. Could this person’s power surpass that of a quasi-saint?
The realization hit him suddenly: “It is the Saint of Primordial Unity!”
This revelation left the blood-winged black mosquito even more flustered. He quickly begged for forgiveness, fearing the worst. But before he could utter another word, Styx angrily reprimanded him, wishing to discipline the mosquito if not for Ye Xiu’s presence.
Ye Xiu remained calm as he asked, “From now on, you will be under Styx’s command and temporarily follow his orders. Soon, I will entrust you with a challenging task. Are you willing?”
The blood-winged black mosquito was momentarily curious about the task but was promptly scolded by Styx. His fear and confusion were evident.
“Apologies, my Lord. I did not intend to offend,” the mosquito stammered.
“Dare to offend the master. You deserve death!” Styx scolded.
Ye Xiu’s voice remained emotionless as he continued, “You are forgiven for now. From then on, you will serve under Styx and follow his orders. Soon, I will assign you a challenging task. Are you willing?”
The blood-winged black mosquito, trembling, expressed his gratitude and willingness to serve.
Styx, still angered, added, “Consider yourself fortunate that the master has spared your life. Show gratitude and thanks immediately.”
With this stern reprimand, the blood-winged black mosquito realized his place and silenced himself, expressing his thanks to Ye Xiu.
Ye Xiu nodded in acknowledgment and lifted the restrictions on the mosquito. Afterward, Ye Xiu gave Styx some brief instructions regarding managing the Styx clan and flew out into the endless sea of blood.
“Farewell, my lord,” Styx and the blood-winged black mosquito said in unison as they bid Ye Xiu goodbye.
……
In the blink of an eye, Ye Xiu had already torn apart space, flowing against the river of time and space, and returned to Mount Buzhou.
Upon his return to the dojo, he saw the Heavenly Lord hovering above the sky. Its towering figure stood on the peak of Mount Buzhou, surrounded by the ancient galaxy, resembling a divine being wearing the stars and moon. Heavenly Lord held the Green-Pearl Sword in its hand, its eyes tightly closed, and its forehead covered in beads of sweat. The black Taoist robe it wore was drenched.
Its brows furrowed as if troubled by inner demons or obstructed in its spiritual path, unable to make progress. Ye Xiu silently observed from below, refraining from interrupting the Heavenly Lord’s contemplation of the sword path. In a moment of revelation, the Heavenly Lord suddenly raised its head, and with a swift flick of its wrist, the Green-Pearl Sword thrust into the sky!
In an instant, a brilliant silver lightning filled the sky. One lightning bolt pierced through the heavens, descending like a divine sword, striking the distant mountain peak with a resounding impact. Though smaller than Mount Buzhou, the towering mountain crumbled and shattered, its rocks flying and landing on the vast land below.
After a while, the thunderous sounds of awe-inspiring thunder resonated. Followed by the deafening roar of the mountains collapsing and the earth splitting.
In Heavenly Lord’s mind, a glimmer of enlightenment appeared, and it suddenly opened its eyes. Sharp radiance emanated from its gaze, surging with boundless power, breaking through the heavens and soaring through the nine celestial realms.
Without hesitation, the Heavenly Lord reached out, grasping the three-foot Green-Pearl Sword. Its robe billowed as it leaped forward.
With a bold stroke, it unleashed a sword!
The clear and crisp sound of sword chants filled the air. Countless sword energies roared, shrouding the entire cosmos, displaying endless and chilling sword intent, akin to raindrops that extinguished everything in the world.
This sword seemed to descend from the chaos, gathering endless brilliance, falling from the heavens, filled with the dominance and sharpness that could create and destroy worlds, unmatched in its brutality.
This was the first sword in the Heaven Opening Nine Swords Style!
After a hundred years of contemplation, the Heavenly Lord had finally comprehended one of the swords…
This demonstrated the profound and advanced nature of the Heaven Opening Nine Swords Style. Complete comprehension was far from easy even for a sword genius like the Heavenly Lord.

Wait, wasn’t the Heavenly Lord a ‘he’ not an ‘it?’ I know translating pronouns isn’t an exact science, especially with tumblrinas raping the language these days, but I’m pretty sure he was a dude, not a neuter.
While I’m on that topic, ‘they’ is never used in the singular. If the gender isn’t known, the masculine embraces the feminine and ‘he’ is used until the gender is revealed to be female.
