Chapter 21: If You Have the Courage, Come Hit Me!
After he arrived at the familiar old place, Su Mu paused to check his current status.
[Personal Level: Level 2 (480/5000)]
The Scarlet Wild Boar Meat had the ability to increase experience points. In this world, eating and drinking well was crucial. He wondered how many experience points he would gain from defeating a mini-boss.
With great anticipation, he slowly approached the entrance of the Energy Stone Mine. The area around the entrance teemed with small monsters and even two scarlet boars.
Ignoring the ordinary skeleton dogs, he decided to eliminate the scarlet boars first. These small monsters were no longer a challenge for him; the only real danger awaited inside the mine—the mini-boss.
[Warning: There is a level 10 dangerous enemy within a 500-meter radius.]

When Su Mu entered the Energy Stone Mine, the same warning sounded again. However, unlike before, the Scarlet Boar King was now on the first level instead of the second.
“Is it waiting for me here because I shot it with an arrow yesterday?”
He looked at the Scarlet Boar King with a strange expression.
The interior of the mine provided ample space to maneuver, but the entrance was narrow. He had to squat down to get through—something the massive boar could never manage.
Still, the Scarlet Boar King stood near the exit, just within reach. Su Mu saw no reason to go inside. With a crossbow in hand, why would he engage in hand-to-hand combat with such a beast? That would be as foolish as the boar itself.
“What a perfect sniping spot,” he muttered. “If you can’t come out, don’t blame me for being rude.”
He crouched at the entrance, aiming the Anti-Evil Crossbow at the boar’s massive body. With a swift release, a bolt pierced the beast, leaving a gaping wound. The weapon’s power was far more effective than it had been the previous day.
Back then, the Anti-Evil Crossbow could only inflict minor wounds, causing no significant harm. But now, every shot dealt a heavy blow.
“Roar!”
The Scarlet Boar King howled in pain. Its bristles shot out like needles, aiming at Su Mu. But he raised his arm, protected by the [Glass Bracers], and the bristles harmlessly bounced off, as if they were mere toothpicks.
[Glass Bracers]
[Quality: Rare]
[Defense Level: Level 1 + Level 2]
[Provides the user with an additional 30% defense power.]
Even without activating the bracers’ once-a-day skill, he easily deflected the attack.
The Scarlet Boar King’s true strengths lay in its immense size and brute force. When it realized its bristle attack had failed, it charged at Su Mu in a blind rage.
But its efforts were futile. The boar crashed into the stone wall, dislodging a few rocks, but Su Mu—who remained outside—was completely unscathed.
“If you had gone to the second level of the mine, I wouldn’t have been able to hit you,” he remarked, amused by the creature’s lack of intelligence.
Originally, he had planned to use the Glass Bracers’ skill, which could generate a powerful shield once a day, to block the boar’s attacks and create an opening to strike.
But with the Scarlet Boar King stuck at the entrance, he saw no need for such measures. The narrow passage prevented the beast from reaching him while conveniently allowing him to attack from a safe distance.
Seeing the opportunity, he aimed at the boar’s legs, ensuring it couldn’t escape.
“Roar!”
The Scarlet Boar King bellowed in pain as it thrashed against the entrance. Blood poured from its head as it rammed the walls in frustration. It soon realized how despicable the human outside was.
The boar attempted to turn and flee. Despite the bolts lodged in all four of its legs, its survival instincts drove it to curl into a ball and roll deeper into the mine.
“Trying to escape?” Su Mu sneered. “Remember to eat less in your next life.”
The Scarlet Boar King was on the brink of death.
Su Mu’s bolts had pierced its body from head to tail, leaving no part untouched. After three more shots, the beast could no longer roll. It collapsed on the ground, defenseless.
He stepped into the cave and fired the final bolt directly at its head. With that, the mini-boss of the Energy Stone Mine was defeated.
“Done,” he said, brushing the dust off his hands. “I wonder what kind of loot this first mini-boss will drop.”
Unbeknownst to him, the moment the Scarlet Boar King fell, a new announcement appeared on the World Forum.
