Chapter 17: Master and Disciples Ride the Great Horse, A Thousand Liters Achievement!
Of course, the efforts of the three women were not in vain.
Liu Ruyan’s cultivation level was elevated to the mid-stage of the first layer of the Divine Transformation Realm. At first glance, this might seem insignificant, but in reality, the speed of this progress is astonishing! In the Divine Transformation Realm, it is quite normal to spend hundreds of years just to advance a small sub-level within a minor realm. Such advancement would undoubtedly be hailed as genius by anyone outside.
Xu Qingyao, who broke through a twenty-year bottleneck in one go, also benefited greatly. Although the frequency and total amount she received were much less than Liu Ruyan’s, she made rapid progress to the late stage of the second layer of the Nascent Soul Realm. The full utilization rate of her Pure Yin energy by her Bishui Youfang Body is not to be underestimated.
The one who benefited the most, however, was Nan Gongling, who possessed the Sun and Moon Divine Eyes. After a year of cultivation, although her cultivation level did not improve, her mastery of her divine abilities became increasingly refined. Now, she could not only open and close her Divine Eyes at will but also harness the brilliance of the sun and moon. Although her attack methods were simple, their power far exceeded the scope of the Golden Core Realm. Most terrifyingly, they could ignore the majority of defensive magical artifacts. However, Nan Gongling had long been accustomed to her appearance with black silk covering her eyes, and she only revealed her true self within the Demon Locking Prison.
…
The greatest advantage of the improved wooden bed was its noise reduction. No matter how vigorously it was shaken, it no longer creaked, allowing the indescribable sounds to be heard more clearly.
With another injection administered, Liu Ruyan was completely exhausted. No matter how resilient her talent was, facing an insurmountable opponent, she could only unwillingly slip away. But she still remembered the most important thing. With a flip of her wrist, a familiar spherical jade stopper appeared, quickly sealing the passage. Liu Ruyan knew that her junior sister had created a one-way sealing spell. While that method indeed maximized absorption, this jade stopper was a century-old artifact she had grown accustomed to, and she was a sentimental person. Over time, it had naturally evolved into a spiritual artifact due to prolonged exposure to her and A Chen’s spiritual fluids. Such an item could easily spark competition among low-level cultivators outside.
As soon as Liu Ruyan left, Nan Gongling immediately took over, stepping forward to play the jade flute. After so long, she was well aware of the preciousness of every drop of dew. Letting even a single drop dry up would be a loss! Even if swallowed, it could cleanse and refine the marrow within the body. After thoroughly savoring it, her pre-warmed body seamlessly transitioned into action, her disheveled hair tied into a high ponytail with a silk ribbon. She entered combat mode, her heroic demeanor resembling that of a galloping heroine. In fact, she did just that. Nan Gongling’s delicate face was filled with determination. They had to depart in a few hours, and she had to make the most of the time. Giddy up!
After the novelty wore off, Ning Chen now barely moved. The tame stallion was ridden at will. Seeing Nan Gongling take over her cleanup duty, Liu Ruyan was furious. But the action was too swift; before she could recover from the rhythm, Nan Gongling had already started her task. Liu Ruyan could only curse her rebellious disciple under her breath and quickly got off the bed to cultivate as soon as her legs regained some strength.
Seeing this, Xu Qingyao, who was lying behind Ning Chen, smiled charmingly, showing no intention of competing. Her task this time was to stay behind at the sect, so she didn’t need to leave. After all, as only an early-stage Nascent Soul cultivator, she couldn’t hold her own in front of the top sects of the Great Xia. Feeling the warmth transmitted from her chest, Xu Qingyao’s eyes flickered. She was still too weak. This round trip would take at least half a month, and she was determined to take full advantage of having her junior nephew all to herself to improve her cultivation!
…
Ning Chen, who had been enjoying the attentions from both above and below, was suddenly interrupted.
[Ding! Liu Ruyan has achieved the milestone of cumulatively absorbing 1000 liters of the host’s Primordial Yang (excluding losses). Her body has been in a state of continuous optimization by the Supreme Pure Yang Saint Body. Based on her specific condition, a subordinate physique is now awakened.]Ning Chen was stunned. Apart from the nightly reports at midnight, it had been a long time since the system had spoken up on its own. But after reading the prompt, he was even more confused. A thousand liters? Was he that impressive? And what was this about a subordinate physique? He couldn’t make sense of it at all! But the system didn’t elaborate further. Ning Chen instinctively looked towards Liu Ruyan, who was already seated on the ground and cultivating. He noticed a faint glow emanating from her porcelain-like skin, something that had never happened during her previous cultivation sessions.
The other two women also noticed something and followed Ning Chen’s gaze, their expressions turning surprised.
“Master… um, what’s happening to her?” Nan Gongling asked breathlessly, not forgetting her task at hand.
Xu Qingyao snapped out of her thoughts and rolled her eyes. “Let’s wait and see. Who knows? But judging from that blissful look on her face, it’s definitely not something bad.” Even though Liu Ruyan had revealed her secret, Xu Qingyao still harbored some resentment for being kept in the dark for so long. She thought it was already quite kind of her not to secretly plot against Liu Ruyan and only occasionally make a few sarcastic remarks. Who cared about that woman’s fate?
As Xu Qingyao thought this, she picked up a freshly cut fruit from the jade plate beside her and handed it to the man who was currently pressing against her heart, smiling sweetly. The three of them continued with their own tasks while observing Liu Ruyan’s cultivation progress.
Finally, after an unknown amount of time, the system spoke again.
[Ding! Awakening complete. Liu Ruyan has obtained: Subordinate – Heavenly Ice Soul Saint Body.]…

The constantly changing cultivation realms are FRUSTRATINGLY inconsistent. Liu Ruyan is a Soul Transformation cultivator, Xu Qingyao is Nascent Soul, while Nangong Ling is Core Formation. The flip flopping ruins the reading experience.
