Villain of the urban TV/Movie Time-Travel - Chapter 30
Chapter 30: The Final Break
Meng Yun and Yu Fei arranged to meet at Ding Dian’s café.
For the past few days, they had exhausted every possible connection trying to dig up information on Yang Yu, but they found nothing. There were only two possible explanations—either Yang Yu was a complete fraud, or he was someone so powerful that his background was impossible to trace.
After two days of frustration, their hatred for Yang Yu had reached its peak. They convinced themselves that he was nothing more than a conman, playing with women’s hearts for money and pleasure. Determined to “rescue” Lin Jia and Ding Dian from his grasp, they walked into the café, imagining the scene where they exposed his true colors, bringing the two women back to their sides.
When they arrived, Lin Jia and Ding Dian were chatting happily by the window. The moment Lin Jia saw them, her smile faded.
“Say what you need to say and don’t contact me again after this,” Lin Jia said coldly.
Meng Yun had just taken a seat when her words struck him like a slap in the face. He had come here out of concern, yet she was treating him like this? His anger flared, but he forced himself to stay calm.
“That guy Yang Yu is a fraud. Don’t let him fool you,” he said.
Before Lin Jia could respond, Ding Dian scoffed. “Oh? And what exactly did he scam you out of?”
Yu Fei frowned. “He’s clearly two-timing you both! We’re just trying to warn you!”
Ding Dian sneered. “And you have the nerve to say that? How many times have you fooled around behind my back?”
“I’m a PR manager! Socializing is part of my job!” Yu Fei argued. “But my feelings for you are real! Everything I do is for our future.”
“What a convenient excuse. So without me, you wouldn’t work hard? You’d just give up?” Ding Dian retorted.
Seeing the argument escalating, Meng Yun quickly interrupted, “Enough! We didn’t come here to fight.”
Lin Jia crossed her arms. “Then do you have any proof that Yang Yu is a fraud?”
Meng Yun hesitated. “Not exactly, but I know he has an ulterior motive.”
Lin Jia smirked. “Of course he has a motive. What man approaches a woman without one? Didn’t you have a motive when you pursued me?”
“That’s different! My feelings for you were real!” Meng Yun insisted.
“Real feelings?” Lin Jia scoffed. “Where were those real feelings when I was heartbroken? Weren’t you busy partying every night? That’s what you call true love?”
Meng Yun had no response. Desperate, he glanced at Yu Fei for help.
Yu Fei immediately jumped in, “Listen, I don’t know what kind of spell he put on you, but he bought this café for Ding Dian while pursuing you at the same time. That’s classic playboy behavior.”
Meng Yun nodded. “Exactly! He’s clearly playing you. Lin Jia, you should stay away from him.”
Lin Jia’s expression remained indifferent. “I already know he gave Ding Dian the café. So what’s your point? Let me guess—no man is good enough for me except you?”
“Let’s just cut ties. I don’t want to hear anyone badmouth my boyfriend,” Lin Jia said firmly.
Ding Dian added, “And what does it matter to you who gave me this café? We have nothing to do with each other anymore. You’re just trying to stir up trouble.”
Without giving them a chance to respond, Ding Dian grabbed Lin Jia’s hand and walked out.
Back home, Lin Jia vented her frustration to Yang Yu. “I can’t believe I never saw through Meng Yun before. He’s the kind of guy who talks behind people’s backs. I must’ve been blind!”
Yang Yu chuckled. “Everyone encounters a scumbag at some point. The important thing is you see the truth now.”
But deep down, he was already planning his next move. He had intended to ignore them, but since they insisted on provoking him, they couldn’t blame him for striking back. At his level, bringing down their companies was as easy as making a few phone calls.
After discussing their upcoming trip to Lin Jia’s hometown, Yang Yu learned more about her family. They lived in a small northern town, her parents were retired factory workers, and she was their only child—just an ordinary family.
That night, another passionate battle unfolded.
After Lin Jia fell asleep, Yang Yu quietly slipped out and headed to Ding Dian’s place.
Even though the bond between them had been strengthened with time, Ding Dian was still a person with real emotions, not a puppet. He had to make sure she was taken care of properly.
