Villain of the urban TV/Movie Time-Travel - Chapter 15
Chapter 15: A Beating for Nothing
Kim Tan had been beaten—right in Empire High School, the school owned by his family. The fact that the crown prince got hit in his own territory was a huge deal.
Like autumn wind sweeping away fallen leaves, the news spread across the school in no time. Dozens of security guards were dispatched to hunt down the culprit—Yang Yu.
“Did you hear? Kim Tan got beaten up!”
“I heard his injuries are serious. They already sent him to the hospital.”
“Apparently, it was over a love rivalry!”
“Wow! That guy’s got guts!”
“If someone fought for me like that, I’d marry him on the spot!”
The entire school buzzed with gossip.
Meanwhile, in the principal’s office, Kim Tan’s mother in name—the chairwoman of Empire High—was furious.
“How did this person even get in? Do we just let random outsiders stroll into our school?”
“What the hell are all those security guards doing? How did he walk out unscathed after beating my Tan?”
“If anything happens to my Tan, none of you will get away with it!”
Jung Ji-sook slammed her desk repeatedly, her anger spilling out on the head of security.
SMACK!
SMACK!
The table shook under her blows.
The head of security stood with his back hunched, sweat dripping down his forehead. He didn’t dare wipe it.
“Have you found out who he is? What exactly happened?”
After exhausting her anger, Jung Ji-sook took a sip of water and asked.
“According to student witnesses, the fight started over Yoo Rachel,” the head of security quickly reported.
“Where is Yoo Rachel? Call her in—I’ll question her myself.”
“She… she left. She left with that man,” the head of security said, wiping his sweat nervously.
“What about the police and prosecutors? Have they caught him?” Jung Ji-sook demanded.
“Well… um…” The head of security hesitated.
“Useless! What do I even pay you for? I’ll ask the Chief Prosecutor myself! Get out of my sight!”
Fuming, she immediately dialed a number.
“Chief Prosecutor Lee, hello. About the incident with my son, Kim Tan—what’s the progress?”
“Mrs. Jung, I suggest you let this go. This isn’t someone Empire Group can afford to mess with,” the prosecutor replied flatly.
“What? In this country, aside from the top ten conglomerates, who else could we possibly need to fear? Not even the President’s people are off-limits to us!” she snapped arrogantly.
“Who exactly is this man?”
“Just now, Chairman Lee from Samsung personally called me,” Chief Prosecutor Lee said sternly before hanging up.
The moment she heard Samsung’s Chairman was involved, Jung Ji-sook’s arrogance vanished instantly.
Compared to the giant that was Samsung, Empire Group was nothing. If Samsung wanted, they could make a move and take over Empire Group overnight.
In South Korea, the major conglomerates all held shares in each other’s companies. While the Kim family founded Empire Group, they only held 30% of the shares. The majority belonged to various other financial groups.
If Samsung wanted to crush them, the other shareholders would absolutely side with Samsung.
We can’t afford to provoke them.
Without hesitation, she called Chairman Kim Nam-yoon to report the situation.
“Keep the impact of this incident to a minimum. Afterward, take Kim Tan to apologize in person,” Kim Nam-yoon ordered over the phone.
“But…”
“No buts. Just do as I say.”
With that, he hung up.
For the sake of Empire Group’s interests, Kim Nam-yoon had no problem sacrificing his sons’ love and happiness. An apology? That was nothing.
Meanwhile, Yang Yu and Yoo Rachel sat in a café, enjoying cake and coffee.
“Did you have to hit him that hard? Kim Tan ended up in the hospital. If anything happens to him, you’re done for,” Yoo Rachel said coldly, glaring at Yang Yu.
“I just love that proud attitude of yours.”
Yang Yu reached out to ruffle her hair again, but she dodged.
He loved teasing her, especially when she looked disgusted by it.
“I’m being serious! Can’t you take anything seriously?” Yoo Rachel scowled.
“Are you worried about me?” Yang Yu smirked, eyes filled with amusement.
“Ugh! You’re impossible!”
Furious, Yoo Rachel slammed the table and stood up, pointing at Yang Yu.
Seeing her like this, Yang Yu felt an inexplicable satisfaction. If not for the table between them, he might have pulled her into his arms right then and there.
“Relax. They won’t dare do anything to me.”
“You’ll see—this whole thing will be for nothing.”
