Chapter 30: Military Training? No, I Want to Get a Wife
The next morning, the sound of cicadas was deafening.
The freshmen participating in military training began gathering on the playground one by one.
They were all wearing matching camouflage uniforms, looking like a sea of green.
The instructor had not yet arrived.
So, everyone sat down in their designated formation and chatted casually.
To maintain order during the training, members of the student council were stationed around the edge of the playground.
They held notebooks, looking like market supervisors.
Meanwhile, in the economics faculty’s formation, Jiang Zhou had been looking around aimlessly since he arrived.
He wandered around the formation, walking while searching for something.
Finally, he confirmed one thing.
Feng Siruo had not come to participate in the military training!
“Ding Yue, where’s my wife?!”
“Did she ask for leave? But isn’t it true that no one is allowed to take leave for military training, no matter the reason?”
Jiang Zhou squeezed through the crowd and found the girl with black glasses from yesterday.
Ding Yue glanced at him, her expression filled with helplessness.
Feng Siruo was a super beauty, but not many people knew this.
Because after she checked in, she went straight to the dorm.
She hadn’t even attended the freshman meet-and-greet.
Why was Jiang Zhou still clinging to her?
“Actors in the welcome party don’t need to participate in military training. Also, can you stop calling her your wife?”
Jiang Zhou was stunned. “No military training? That’s outrageous!”
Ding Yue gave him a stern look. “What does it matter to you if she doesn’t have to do military training?”
“Looks like I can’t just wait around. I need to go find her myself.”
“Huh?”
“Where’s the training venue for the welcome party?”
Ding Yue thought for a moment. “I think it’s in the Dance Academy’s practice room.”
Hearing this, Jiang Zhou turned and walked out of the playground.
“Hey, where are you going? You can’t leave without permission during military training!”
Jiang Zhou ignored her.
When he arrived in Beijing, there were two important things on his mind.
One was to find a suitable project and start a business.
The other was to rekindle his relationship with his wife from his past life.
The first thing was already underway, but why was his wife from his past life wandering around everywhere?
However, as soon as he reached the gate of the playground, a member of the student council stopped him.
“Student, military training is about to start. Where are you going?”
Jiang Zhou stopped and said, “I have something urgent to take care of, but I’ll be right back.”
“Not allowed. Without an official leave request from the academic affairs office, you can’t leave for anything.”
“Fine, I’ll go to the academic affairs office then?”
The student council member said nothing but gave him a cold stare.
This year’s freshmen were so clueless. They didn’t even know to address an upperclassman properly.
He was part of the student council, after all. Shouldn’t the new students at least show some respect?
Jiang Zhou thought for a moment. “I really have an urgent matter. Please make an exception, and I’ll treat you to a meal later.”
The student council member gave him a sidelong glance, pretending not to hear him.
There was no way he was going to give a freshman any face.
“Sis!” at that moment, Jiang Zhou suddenly shouted.
Everyone on the playground immediately turned to look, their expressions curious.
Who was this brave soul calling out for his sister in front of the whole playground?
At that moment, a beautiful figure walked over from the south side of the playground.
The president of the student council, Han Rou, jogged over.
Her white dress fluttered as she moved.
“Big Brother, what are you doing here?”
As soon as she spoke, the eyes of everyone on the playground went wide with confusion.
A freshman? The Big Brother of the student council president from the third year?
What kind of plot twist was this?
Had he repeated a year and finally made it into the school?
Jiang Zhou pointed at the stupefied student council member. “He won’t let me leave.”
Han Rou froze for a moment, then widened her eyes. “You’re a freshman?”
“Yeah, didn’t I tell you before?”
The student council member finally spoke up. “Senior Han, military training is about to begin, but he doesn’t have a leave request.”
Jiang Zhou shot back a glare. “You’re reporting me in front of my sister? Don’t you know that helping family takes priority over logic?”
“I…”
“You’re so young, but instead of learning from the good examples, you’re learning the bad ones. And you’re supposed to be a senior? How are you setting an example for me?!”
The student council member swallowed hard, unsure how to respond.
In the past, he would’ve just challenged him to a fight.
But this was different.
This was Han Rou’s Big Brother.
In a way, Han Rou’s authority could outweigh even an academic affairs office teacher.
She also had the power to approve activity credits.
Most people wouldn’t dare to provoke her easily.
Jiang Zhou looked back at her. “Sis, I need to go out.”
Han Rou looked a little upset.
This guy, who was two years younger than her, had tricked her into calling him “Big Brother”!
But she was still a little afraid of him.
After all, she needed him to solve a bad omen for her.
Han Rou pouted. “Fine, go ahead. I’ll handle the leave issue for you.”
“Good sis, I’ll treat you to a meal tomorrow.”
“You said that yesterday, and tomorrow hasn’t come yet.”
“Then I won’t treat you,” Jiang Zhou said, tossing his words over his shoulder as he turned to leave the playground.
At that moment, Han Rou was both amused and helpless.
Somehow, she now had a Big Brother.
And this Big Brother was utterly perplexing.
“Stop staring! Go back and maintain order. The instructor is coming soon!” Han Rou snapped back to reality and shouted at everyone, who immediately scattered, startled by her sudden command.

Meanwhile, Jiang Zhou hurried to the Dance Academy.
He found a girl just coming out of the building and asked for directions to the practice room.
After getting the information, he took the elevator to the fifth floor.
At the same time, outside the practice room on the corridor, a girl wearing a mask was walking toward the restroom, looking preoccupied.
Her head was lowered, making her not particularly noticeable.
Her loose clothing covered her figure, but there was an undeniable delicate and fragile beauty about her, and her eyes, which were exposed, were quite captivating.
As soon as Jiang Zhou entered the corridor and was about to step forward, he suddenly stopped.
Life was long but short.
There were few things that were truly memorable.
Even if something beautiful happens, and it moved you at the time, it would eventually be replaced by new memories.
But some things, no matter how many times they come, one could never forget.
“Do you recognize me?” Suddenly, Jiang Zhou moved forward and pressed the masked girl against the wall.
Everything happened so suddenly that she didn’t even have time to react.
Her eyes widened in shock, and she looked like a frightened rabbit.
